Cold blooded

David kept calling the commissioner for information about Sia. He was walking in the living area restlessly.

"Sia!" David shouted when he saw drench, unconscious Sia hanging in the arm of a cop.

"Where was she? Take her to the room." He was panicking, looking at her state. The officer placed her on the bed carefully.

"Sia! Hello doctor!" David sat with her on the bed and called the doctor at home. He felt strange when the cop didn't reply and walked out of the room. He persuaded the doctor to treat Sia at home.

Her bleeding lips and burning body from fever made him restless. He sat near her. The doctor has treated her and left an hour ago. David didn't take a nap whenever Sia got sick.

"How is your princess?" David received a call from an unknown number.

"Who is there?" He didn't recognise the voice of that woman.

"I guess. She is alive that's why. You are alive too." She said.

"How could you say something about your own daughter? Don't you feel any pain of her?" On his bitter question, she was completely silent. Sia was six years old. Her mother punished her for a mistake. Sia got stitches on her forehead. David slapped her on that mistake. she didn't like daughters and Sia was her first daughter. She didn't see the face of newborn Sia. When she know she gave birth to a girl. David divorced her, because of every day's quarrel with Sia.

"Send her to me. Somehow, You can't be a good father even you raise her like a princess." She said.

"Alright! When Sia came into consciousness. I will send her to you. But remember one thing. You will not make her like you were." David said bitterly.

"You were six. You cried for mommy. Patricia was your favourite teacher. Just for you. I married again. I thought. She would cherish you like her own daughter. I was wrong. Your mom is right. I can not be a good dad. I raise you like a princess." David took Unconscious Sia's hand in his hand. He was apologising to her. As a father, he couldn't see the condition of his daughter. He remembered the happiest moment with his first wife.

"I gave all the years of my life to this man. He is saying he still loves her. I was just a maid. Who came here to take care of his first daughter." Patricia was standing outside Sia's room. She heard him. She broke down. Sometimes, some words are not for saying.

At night Patricia received a call. She hid the phone from David. She came out of the room

and descended the stairs.

"Hello! Olivia's condition is getting worse. I am afraid. I can not take care of her further." A lady said on the phone. From her tone, she was irked.

"Don't say that. You are my best friend. I believe in you that's why. I sent her to you. You can handle her." Patricia requested her in a slow voice.

"You don't need to worry about her. She will be shifted to an asylum. tomorrow." David snatched the phone from her. She was astounded by his act.

"You can't do this to her. She is just sick." She was about to cry.

"She isn't sick. Patricia!. She is addicted at the age of eighteen and what she has done with my daughter. Your daughter deserves this. She should have died..."

"Not a single word. David!. Olivia isn't your daughter. You don't have any right to decide for her." Patricia cut off him and yelled badly.

"Slow down your voice. Sia is resting" He was frustrated in his tone.

"Just because of Sia. You separated from your love. She is your lovely child so, Her every sin is forgivable. Our downfall started from there. She collaborated with Simon and entangled with the mafia. Do you forget that blast?. That horrible night. At that time, you were standing with her. You hid her. Now. Olivia is astray. Yeah, she isn't your daughter. Why will you care for her? " he understood the taunt in her words.

David and Sia always cared for Olivia as family members even Patricia's behaviour was slightly cold with Sia. At this time. She was selfish for her own daughter.

"She didn't do anything so lower that Olivia did. If you gave birth to Sia. Then you understand her sacrifice." he said.

"I am not her biological mother. Nobody can love another's child more than their own." She said bluntly.

"You are a cold blooded woman!. Just because of your this rude attitude and freedom. Our home has shattered. Olivia's life has been ruined. Her body is used to the high level of drugs and...." His words were like an arrow. It stabbed her. He turned to leave he couldn't argue further.

"You can't blame my daughter for all of this. Your daughter is an equal part of it. " She shouted at his back. He tried to answer her but his heartache didn't allow him. He ascended the stairs, placing his right hand on the chest.
