2. Meet Your Luna

A white wolf was resting her head on her paws with her eyes closed. Her ears twitched when she heard a howl. She raised her head and moved her ears in the direction of the howl. She sighed as she got up.

“Always calling when I’m resting.” She complained.

She stretched and moved in the direction of the howl. She slowly picked her pace until she was running through the forest.

“Freya!” someone called to her.

She turned her head and saw a chocolate brown colored wolf running a little further away from her. It was her best friend, Karlie.

“Why do you think Alpha is calling us?” She asked Freya while running.

They were communicating with through mind link.

“Don’t know. We’ll find out when we get there.” She told her.

Freya heard someone else running on her other side.

“Ladies.” A red wolf greeted them.

“Randall. Looking as sharp as always.” Karlie said.

The red wolf flashed a smile.

“Last one to reach the Alpha will have to hunt the entire week.” Karlie told them.

“Deal.” Randall and Freya said at once.

They raced through the forest at full speed.

“Ready guys?” Freya asked.

“Ready.” Randall and Karlie said.

Freya stopped, as did the two wolves. She howled, and Randall and Karlie followed. Their howls spread through the forest. Then they again started their little race.

The white wolf heard the other wolves’ howls.

“Are your friends calling you?” Lillian asked.

He just sat there without moving. The white wolf was sitting on the ground while Lillian was sitting between his paws. She was patting his paw.

“I wish I had hair like you. It’s so soft.” She said.

The wolf lowered his head and rested it on her lap.

“Such a heavy head.” She said, but patted his head.

He felt offended. But it was true since he was so big and she was so small, so he let it pass.

‘Thankfully that it was me who found her otherwise…’ he didn’t want to think about it.

He licked her face.

“Ewwwww…” she made a face of disgust. Her face was covered in his saliva.

The wolf grinned. He licked her again and again. She laughed as she tried to stop him.

“Having fun, are we?” someone said.

The white wolf’s whole body was suddenly stiff from hearing the voice. He moved in front of Lillian to protect her. He bared his teeth and snarled dangerously at the intruder.

An ash gray colored wolf stood in front of him.

Lillian got scared and went quiet.

“No need to act so ferociously. You play toy is getting scared.” The grey wolf said and grinned.

“This is my territory.” The white wolf warned.

“Ooopppsssiiieeee… My bad. I caught a very mouth-watering scent from the forest, you see, and that scent led me to you.” The grey wolf said and looked at Lillian hiding behind the white wolf, “Now, if you’ll give me my lunch, then I’ll be on my merry way.”

“And if I don’t?” the white wolf snarled.

“Then I guess I’ll have to snatch her away.” The grey wolf told him.

“Try, and I’ll shred you into pieces.” He told his enemy.

“So protective of a piece of meat. Unless… she’s your lunch.” The grey wolf said with a smirk.

“SHE IS THE ALPHA’S WIFE, LUNA!” the white wolf barked at him.

The grey wolf flinched and looked at the white wolf with wide eyes.

‘A wolf’s mate is a human?’ the grey wolf asked himself.

The grey wolf smiled mischievously.

Just then, three wolves appeared at the scene.

“Be gone Blake, otherwise you might not be able to go home at all.” Freya snarled.

“Ahhhh… I see, I see. Since I am not welcomed here, then I’ll take my leave.” He said.

Blake turned around and vanished into the forest.

The white wolf relaxed as soon as he left.

“What was he here for?” Randall asked, frowning.

“To cause trouble, what else?” Karlie said.

“That pack is always looking for our weaknesses. Brother, are you injured?” Freya asked.

“I am fine, Freya.” He said and turned around.

The three wolves looked at the frightened little girl.

“Did Blake follow her?” Karlie asked.

“Yes.” Alpha answered.

“What are you going to do with her?” Freya asked.

“Let’s take her out of the forest safely. Our pack made a vow to never hurt humans.” Randall said.

Alpha nudged his nose on her stomach, but Lillian still seemed scared. He licked her face.

“Yuck.” Lillian said, removing the saliva off her face with her sleeve.

That did the trick.

“Good doggy. You made the bad doggy run away.” Lillian patted his head.

He was still annoyed at being called a doggy.

“Alpha.” Freya looked at him, surprised, as did Randall and Karlie.

Alpha looked at his sister from the corner of his eyes. Then he nudged Lillian forward towards them. He stopped her when she was in their clear sight.

“Meet your Luna.” Alpha introduced her.

“Luna!?” The three looked at their alpha in shock.

Blake went to his Alpha. A big, black-colored wolf was sleeping in his house.

“Alpha, I have great news for you.” Blake said excitedly as he entered his bedroom.

The black wolf opened his eyes and glared at Blake.

“It better be. Otherwise, you will pay for disturbing my sleep.” The Alpha snarled.

“Alpha, I found out that Ryan finally has a weakness.”

“Really? What is it?” The Alpha thought it might be something useless since Ryan had absolutely no weakness.” He closed his eyes back again, uninterested.

“Ryan has finally met his Luna.” Blake told him.

The Alpha’s eyes shot open. He turned his head to Blake.

“Luna, you said?” he asked him.

“Yes Alpha.” Blake replied.

The black wolf grinned.

“A great weakness indeed.” He got up and moved towards a pile of bones, “To a wolf, his mate is everything and since a wolf can only fall in love only once in their live time, they would do everything in their power to protect her.”

“The Luna is a little human girl.” Blake told her.

“An even easier prey.” His grin became even bigger.

He stopped in front of a skull and put his paw over it.

“Ryan’s time as an alpha is over.” He crushed the skull under his paw into pieces.
