Chapter 81: A True Alpha

~Author’s Narration~

Loud shrieks and cries of pain came from one room of the packhouse, within the Cross River Pack. Everyone who lingered outside the room tuned in as Mia was beaten to a pulp by her own father. 

“How dare you bring trouble here? You should have warned your fated mate about our rules! You cannot leave this pack! Do you hear me!” Mathew screamed and what followed next were sounds of thuds against the wooden floor, glass shattering, and Mia's cries. 

The cries only stopped when nightfall came and Mia fell unconscious, on the floor. Despite her condition, her father nor her twin sister did not treat her wounds. Only Mark aided in her care, groaning as he wiped the blood off her skin. 

When mid-morning came the next day, Alpha Jasper was calling out loud from the kitchen, demanding food. “Where is Mia? She and her brother should be cooking right now.”
