She said a lot of degrading things to me, Sebastian," Amy whimpered, inwardly praising herself for coming up with such a brilliant idea. She had been working herself up for days trying to think of a plan to get Sebastian away from Charlotte. How could she not see that the answer to her problem had been with her the whole time? Charlotte didn't rub the fact that Sebastian had praised her to her face, nor did she taunt her for not having parents but Sebastian didn't know that and he would never know the real truth; that she was the terrible person and not Charlotte. He would only see what she wanted him to see. He was a very smart man when it came to business but he was dumb when he came to matters like this. And Amy used it to her advantage as that was how she was able to fool him for so many years. "So what you're telling me is that she walked up to you and started taunting and insulting you," Sebastian stated, wanting to be sure. His heart and his mind were at war with each
"Are we done yet?" Charlotte asked for the umpteenth time as she changed her pose so the photographer could capture her from all angles. "Charlotte can you please go five minutes without asking that. It's really starting to annoy me!" Charles snapped in irritation. "Don't you dare get irritated at me!" Charlotte snapped back. "I'm the one who has been put in at least twenty different outfits, taken more than a hundred shots just because the producer kept on changing his mind," she said."And most importantly, I'm standing up here in this uncomfortable heels and this really tight dress. If there's someone who is supposed to be irritated, then that should be me not you!" "He should be done in about five minutes," Charles answered. "Ok then but just know that I'm not staying up here for more than five minutes." Charles simply nodded and continued with what he was doing before he was interrupted by Charlotte. True to her word, Charlotte refused to take any more photos after the fi
Charlotte looked at her phone which was still ringing. Sebastian calling her at this hour could only mean he had seen the photo. She knew Sebastian did not follow celebrity gossip which meant that someone must have told him. She wondered who had informed him about it. The call dropped and Charlotte heaved a sigh of relief but it was cut short when her phone started ringing again. Charlotte didn't know whether Sebastian believed what he saw or not and she wasn't prepared to find out. She let the call drop again but Sebastian wasn't ready to give up. He kept on calling her over and over again. She felt like her phone was going to explode with the amount of calls and messages she was receiving both from Sebastian and her family. She wasn't really bothered about her family as she knew they wouldn't believe a word of the article but she didn't know about Sebastian and his family. "Aren't you going to answer the call?" Marcelo asked. "I’d rather not,” Charlotte answered. “You know m
Charlotte bit her lip nervously as her car drove past the gates of the Gerano mansion. Her anxiety increased as they got closer and closer to Sebastian's house. She prayed that he shouldn't have gotten home. Her prayer was however not answered as she could see Sebastian standing in front of the entrance to the mansion. Marcelo parked the car and got out of it. One of the men who was standing guard outside the mansion rushed and opened the door for Charlotte. If it was up to her, she would wait in the car until Sebastian got tired of standing and went in but she couldn't do so. After mustering all the courage she could gather, Charlotte stepped out of the car and walked up to Sebastian. "Hi," she greeted in a low voice. Sebastian looked at her but didn't acknowledge her greeting. This made Charlotte even more nervous. Sebastian grabbed Charlotte by her wrist and pulled her to stand beside him. He then turned to Marcelo who was standing in front of him with his head bowed.
"Yes we have. That was one of the reasons why I was calling you. We found out that it was a woman who was behind the post," he said."She is a die hard fan of Amy Williams. That must have been the reason she defamed you," Henry revealed."Are you sure that you found the right person?" Charlotte asked as she didn't want to jump to conclusions."I'm a hundred percent positive that we found the right person," Henry answered. "What do you want to do?" He asked.Charlotte sighed. "I don't know yet brother. We both know the punishment for those who cross us but the thing is that I promised myself I wouldn't go back to that life," said Charlotte. "Just cause you changed doesn't mean the world will change, Charlotte. The longer you keep quiet, the more people mess with you," Henry said. "Take Amy for example, the only reason she still messes with you is because you haven't taught her a lesson yet and I'm still solid in my opinion that you should let me take care of her.""Brother, Amy's life
"Wow, this woman has some guts. She lives in a residential apartment owned by the Brooks yet, she still has the guts to defame me; I like her," Charlotte commented as the car halted to a stop in front of a residential complex. The investigation done by Henry's men led them to find out that she lived in this building. Two security guards who recognized his car rushed to them and opened the doors for them. "Thank you," Charlotte said and dipped her hand into her bag to give the guards a tip."Thank you Ma'am," the two guards said in happiness. The tip she had given them was more than their salary of two months combined. All eyes fell on them immediately as they entered the building. All the workers were shocked to see that Charlotte had come there. Henry always came from time to time to inspect the building but Charlotte had never been there. The women who were present started trying to scrutinize Charlotte but they couldn't find anything wrong with her. After all, she was the number
“Please, don’t leave me,” Sebastian pleaded as he buried his head in Charlotte’s chest. “I promise you I’m not going to leave you,” Charlotte said as she ran her fingers through his hair, trying to get him to calm down. “I’m here,” she kept on whispering to him and it was very effective in calming Sebastian down as his breathing started returning to normal. He had stayed beside his phone from the time Charlotte left the house with Henry. He didn’t realize how much he liked having her around until he saw her leaving. She had brought about a wave of fresh air and light into his boring life and he was not prepared to go back to that boring life. He became apprehensive when he couldn’t reach Charlotte. He thought Henry had taken her away from him forever. This thought led to old memories and old wounds opened up which led to him having a severe panic attack; one he hadn’t had in years. “Sebastian, come let’s get you to the bed,” Charlotte said. Even though he had calm down, he was s
Sebastian didn’t feel the warmth he had been lying on anymore. He frowned as he was unable to sleep anymore. He slowly opened his eyes and was met with the familiar ceiling of his room. He removed the duvet and sat up on the bed. Sebastian wasn’t feeling a headache any longer, thankfully. He ran his fingers through his head, and tried to remember what had happened last night. The last thing he remembered was calling Charlotte numerous times but she did not answer. ‘What happened after that?’ he asked himself and closed his eyes trying to remember what happened next. He remembered having a panic attack. In order to control it before it got worse, he left his study and headed to his room to use his medication. He could feel the panic attack worsening and so, he overdosed himself. He was lucky that he didn’t die from the overdose and only had a fever. The effects also caused him to feel drowsy and unlike himself it was like he was drunk. “Shit!” Sebastian exclaimed in horror as he
