5. Existence of the vampires

Emilia finally got the chance to kill Donald. How it happened no other person could really tell, but she had successfully killed him.

After she had killed him, she ate every single part of his body so that no clue could be found whatsoever and the source of his death couldn't be traced. Donald didn't show up at work for four consecutive days, which made all the staff of W. E. G worried. Some of them tried reaching his line but to no avail. No one had any clue about his whereabouts and as humans, they all concluded that he had been murdered. Not as if they were wrong, though. Lucas and some group members started looking up on Donald's case…

One of the days, Lucas was at home, with his laptop still searching for Donald's case, when Emilia approached him. “I can help you with Donald's case, that is if you don't mind,” she cunningly planned to deceive him once again.

“How?” Lucas asked in curiosity.

She was mute for a little while, then she spoke up, “as the last breed of my race, I was given the stone of life as an inheritance, which gives me whatever information I need.” From the little she had just said, it explained everything.

“How long will it take to find the answers from the stone?” He asked, staring directly into her eyes.

“Not more than an hour, all I need is a peaceful environment with no human around me so that I can concentrate,” she answered.

“You don't have to do it if you don't want to,” he said in an assuring voice. Lucas wanted to let her know that she had her rights…

Emilia smiled to him, “you have helped me a lot, doing you this favor is nothing compared to what you have done for me. So just let me help you.”

Lucas nodded at her, “alright then, I'm so grateful to have you in my life. I guess I'll have to leave the house, since no human is supposed to be around.”

“Yes, sure,” she replied with a smile.

When Lucas left, she let out the mocking smile which she had been holding in, definitely she was going to put the blame on someone else, but who?

Not long after, Emilia came out of the room, she didn't do anything in the room, but she just needed a little time to fabricate a good lie to tell. She picked up her phone and told Lucas to come home quickly, that she had found out everything. Within seconds, Lucas was already home… “What I found out is quite shocking and unbelievable to humans like you, but I hope you believe whatever I have to tell you,” she said looking at him to see what reaction he had on his face.

Lucas smiled at her in an assuring way of saying, 'go ahead.'

Emilia nodded to his signal. “Donald was murdered by immortals,” she paused. “He was brutally murdered by a human vampire,” she lied…

Lucas looked at her, disbelief could clearly be seen in his eyes… “I also found out that this vampire had murdered him for a reason.”

“What reason?” Lucas asked.

“Donald had killed his mate,” she replied…

“What do you mean by that?”

“He had killed his soul mate, the woman he was supposed to spend his life with,” she answered.

“What!” He exclaimed.

“I'm sorry to say this, but I just can't believe what you are saying to me. As far as I know, vampires do not exist.”

“They do, and I can prove it to you if you want,” she suggested, she was really going to convince him…

Vampires and wolves were the greatest of enemies, and maybe that was the reason she put the blame on them…

“How can you prove it?”

“I have the power to teleport,” she replied…

“All you have to do is give me your hands,” she said, stretching out her hands. Lucas looked at her for quite some time before placing his hands in hers. “We are about to travel into the vampires world, make sure to close your eyes and focus, understand?” She instructed in an authoritative voice.

“Alright,” he replied.

Now their bodies were standing, but their spirit had gone far away to the den of the vampires.

After some hours, their body came back to life.

“Why did you stop me from entering?” Lucas asked in an angry tone.

“Have you gone mad, they would have us both if I let you.”

“How? You have powers too,” he said.

“I do, but my powers can't match the vampires. For so many ages, the vampires have killed many of our kinds. We are long aged enemies.”

“Most humans have been killed by the vampires, and they have successfully put the blame on our packs,” she added.

This realization brought a thought into Lucas's head, “what if my dad was killed by a vampire and not a wolf.”

He looked at Emilia, then he asked, “how can we destroy the vampires?”

“I do not really know for now, but mere mortals don't stand a chance against them. They are very dangerous.”

Lucas paced the room, he was thinking of an idea.

“What about your stone, can't you find something from it?”

Emilia eyes widened. Lucas wanted her to use her stone to find a way to get rid of the vampires. Not like she felt it would be better not to destroy her enemies, she just wasn't ready yet. The humans were her first target, the vampires would be next because they too had killed many of her species too and they can't be left unscathed as long as she lives….
