Chapter 24

Damien:

“Thank you for standing up for me today” Natalia said as the two of us swayed to the music.

“You’re my wife, Natalia; you couldn’t have expected me to watch a bastard like him insult you while I just watched” I said twirling her. I pulled her closer to me, her back facing my chest, and I engulfed her in my embrace, resting my chin over her shoulder “you’re not alone anymore, malyshka; you have me, and a whole pack keeping you safe”

“I know, and I’m forever thankful for that” Natalia whispered. I twirled her around again, turning her to face me. Natalia smiled and wrapped her left arm around my neck while her right was in my left. My own right hand was around her waist. The candles which were lit around the room gave a warm aura to it, and her own eyes which were fixed on mine had me mesmerized.

I slowly removed my hand from hers, wrapping it around her waist as I leaned closer
