CHAPTER 2: Their Life

Vanessa was yawning as Ivory strolled down the hall with her. Everyone they passes by was bowing their heads in acknowledgement that they are the organization's future leader. Andruis, their father, is now responsible for the organization that their grandparents established ages ago. They unlawfully sell an assortment of deadly weapons in a few nations, but they are shielded by the law and government authorities. They won't be frightened assuming that they are found. In exchange for their help to catch an organization or an individual with a major abundance that police can't deal with. They had many departments assisting their organization in collaborating effectively with the most trusted wolves and humans they knew.

Ivory took her coat before trying to escape out of the door. It was already midnight yet she still has a plan to go outside.

"Where are you going?" Vanessa asked, attempting to figure out her sister's move.

"Rooftop," Ivory said and made her way off. Vanessa looks at her sister's back and decides to go to her own room. She was simply exhausted and in desperate need of a good night's rest.

'She's not drained at this point, is she a robot?' she thought, yet laughed in the end realizing her sister is an obsessive worker one.

"Bullshit," Ivory hissed when she lost sight of her target. She was just observing through the rooftop when she saw a man chasing a teenager who she thinks is from school because the girl's still wearing her uniform. Her senses telling her that the young lady is in an awful circumstance so she follows them while attempting to conceal herself.

"Searching for me?" a voice asked behind her, she smiled and basically turned herself around decisively. A young person like her is probably going to be stunned and frightened on account of the circumstance, however the girl in front of him is different. The man did not expect what she did so she took that chance to attack him.

'No one can ever scare me, pathetic.' she thought as she kept breaking his bones with no brief look at lament or pity in her eyes. The man moaned in torment when she flipped his one hand on his back.

"Stop! Please!" the man pleaded, his face was so pale. He doesn't want to die yet he can't fight her, so arguing for his life is the best choice he can at any point consider.

"Say that again?" Ivory teased him. With a greeted teeth, the man tightly shuts his eyes.

"Please, let me go!" the man yelled out of resentment and apprehension, he moaned when her hold relaxed. The young lady before him isn't common, that is the idea running in his mind at the present time. She turned his back at him, smiling as the moon eased up her white skin. She looked above, hearing this man moan in torment makes her cheerful and fulfilled. The man couldn't move yet he was attempting to sort out how he could make her compensate for what she did. Knowing the man's musings, Ivory didn't squander any moment and kicked him from her back which caused him to feel the haziness. A man like him doesn't merit living by any means, she thought.

On the other side of the tree is a girl who saw those scenes, hiding out of fear that she might be hurt. She was about to run but a small branch crunch as she stepped which made a noise. Ivory felt her presence and made her way where she was hiding. The young lady's knees shuddered in dread when she felt somebody's in her back.

"Who is that? Please, please don't hurt me," a tears fell from her eyes as she pleaded for her life. She was just a student who wanted to go home but this happened. Since the time she left school, she was feeling that somebody's after her and she was unable to consider anything right to do however to run from that person.

"Don't be scared, I will just leave this here," Ivory said. The girl quickly looked on her back when she heard a girl however she couldn't see anyone but a piece of cloth on the floor. It was her handkerchief.

Ivory saw the girl running while looking from her back from time to time, scared that anyone would follow her again. She smiled as she saw her holding the handkerchief she returned to her.

"Not sleepy yet?" a voice asked. She doesn't need to look for that person anymore because she knows that voice very well.

"Hm," she nodded her head. She was standing in a branch of a tall tree while looking at the surroundings.

"Is there any problem?" the voice asked again, she sighed. This cold night was helping her to remember their dull past and she realized that she would not rest soundly.

"Go away, Steel." her voice is commanding.

"Don't always push me away, Xavia..." his voice cracked. Looking at the girl in front of him makes his heart flutter yet pained.

"Don't call me that name, you can go now." she remarked and jumped onto the other tree. She tightly closed her eyes when she felt Steel jump down the tree where he was. She just couldn't stand his presence, it always makes her feel suffocated.

"I will wait for you there," Steel said while walking away. She stares at his back, she can't just accept the fact that the brother she considered since they were young confessed his feelings for her a year ago. She doesn't want anyone to like her, especially not him, not Steel.

She looked above and sadly smiled. The moon darkened, in line with how she felt. The bird's humming slowly, and it makes her feel she was just alone even more. The thought of her sister's faces was the only thing that could make her smile, even though they are identical, you can simply tell their differences and she is happy that she still have them. A minute more of thinking she decided to go back to their base, the sun was about to rise at any moment and her father would surely worry when he found out that she didn't sleep again.

"Ivory!" she heard a whisper while she was entering the base. She looked at the tree near her and smiled, even though she still couldn't see who that person was. Just by hearing their voices she was so sure of recognizing them.

"What is it, night owl?" she asked, a little girl jumped from the branch of the tree. Seeing her with her dirty clothes doesn't shock her anymore. She sighed and sat with her knees folded, she waited for the little girl to ride her back. "You are so naughty," she said, the little girl gesturing to her to stay silent and closed her eyes after. She carried her back to their lounge, and when she made sure she was asleep she smiled.

"Goodnight, Puma," she whispered, kissing her forehead before making her way off to the lounge. Puma is only ten years old, but despite her age, she is already sophisticated enough to comprehend what is going on around her, which makes her even more cute. Her parents were one of the organization's most trustworthy members.

"I thought you will stay there until the sun rises," Steel said while remaining before the entryway close to the entry. She briskly took a gander at him which made him solid on his feet. The young lady he was exceptionally close with is giving him a chilly treatment now, it is somehow the reason why he regrets telling her his feelings but what can he do? He was already drowning with her at that time.

"Leave me alone," she said and walked straight past him.

"I am just worried, you have not been sleeping yet since yesterday," Steel said, the pure concern's visible in his voice.

"It's nothing you should be concerned about," she straightly said and left. He peered down in light of the fact that he would have rather not see her leaving him. Their reality isn't the same any longer as they used to be.

'Hold on, Steel. Everything will be alright for the both of you soon.' he thought and turned his back. With their one foot already on the ground, they are always fighting new battles that do not promise they will return home alive, and no one can guarantee that they will return home alive every single day, he regretfully smiled since he doesn't know what will happen to them at this point in their lives. It makes him feel weak to protect the girl he loves because he is not a werewolf and doesn't have the strength like them.

Although the sun began to shine, Ivory's focus was on their task. She didn't go to bed, but she's well now. She still feels alive, and that's what matters to her.

"I had a dream," Vanessa smirks because of what Ashleigh said. She took a piece of bread on their table while looking at her sister.

When she observed her sister rolling her eyes, she giggled and asked, "What? You and your laptop are gently dancing under the moonlight?" She thinks she's adorable with that expression since she enjoys seeing her irritated.

"Shut up, Van." Ashleigh seriously said and stood up, she innocently glanced at her while her fingers pointed at herself.

"What did I do?" she followed her sister who went to the bar counter in their base. "Hi, Jake," she greeted the bartender, who is also their trainer in using long range weapons.

"What do these ladies need this morning?" he asked while shaking the wine. It has a fragrance that smells truly scrumptious for Vanessa. Jake has been their companion since they were kids, regardless of his age, 5 years older than them he was so close with the trios. He has a tan skin that makes him look hot much more, well that was everything Vanessa said to him in those days that he actually believes up to this point.

"What's that wine? I like it, can I taste it?" she asked. Ashleigh checked out the wine too while drinking her favorite espresso.

"It's not yet the time my lady, wait until two months," he winked at her. She frowned upon hearing what this man in front of him said.

'You are lucky, you are cute' she thought.

"Aren't you going to look at the file?" Ashleigh asked her but she just shrugged her shoulders.

"Later," she replied and took a sip of the milk Jake gave her. "What about your dream, by the way?" Ashleigh smirked remembering her dream.

"I dreamt of you losing to me today." Vanessa turned her seat around, ignoring her sister's teased. Looking at the bar counter of their base and saw Ivory cleaning the gun that their auntie gave them for their missions. On her right side is Steel who was looking at her sister. She likes Steel for her sister but her sister doesn't like him so she can't do anything about that. On her left side is Hunter who was so busy reading a book, for sure it was about science. He just really loves science, that's why he was in a chemical department. She thinks that he can be a book in his next life.

"What are you thinking?" Ashleigh asked. Vanessa looked directly at her eyes.

"I just realized that I am prettier than you," she said. Ashleigh laughed at her and stared at her sister's face.

"If we weren't identical, maybe I'd already murdered you for what you said but because we are, it makes me chuckle because it's as if you convinced yourself that I'm more beautiful than you." Ashleigh muttered, making Vanessa pout her lips.

"Let's go," they both looked at their sister who was standing in front of them. They exchanged pleasantries as they walked out of the bar area together.

Vanessa was given a file with the task attached by Ivory, which she handed to her. They made their way to the location where their various weapons were kept. After a minute of reviewing the information about their target, they are ready to go, Vanessa smirked as she knew they would easily succeed on this plan. She then went to her favorite weapon, a custom-made fan releasing needles that could paralyze anyone. It wasn't necessary for Ivory to carry a large weapon on her because she was used to fighting physically, so she instead put the small gun in her pocket that their auntie gave her. Ashleigh chose a sniper rifle, as well as her laptop and other gadgets.
