CHAPTER THREE

CHAPTER THREE

The images of my older sister's corpse came flashing back, she died of blood insufficiency, after been

gang-raped.

My father, the one who got us into the mess we are, was once a very wealthy mafia boss, he achieved

fame and wealth at a very young age before getting married to my mum.

A year later they had my sister, after which I was born two years later, coincidentally we were both girls

and the mafia needed a male heir to continue.

This plunged my father into depression as his associates mounted serious pressure on him. He wasn't

ready to listen till threats came in, the mafia he ran was a collective one, there were two main share

holders.

When Santiago became greedy and wanted it all to himself since he felt my father had no heir, my dad

was forced to turn him in to the police, he had been wanted for a long time, he served a sentence of six

years and was granted bail.

The day Santiago was released, we went into hiding, my father knew what was coming. That night we

heard a bang on the door we knew, our time was up!

My dad hid my mother, my sister and I,in a little closet in our spare room where was more like a different part of the house , before taking us there , he handed me an old key shaped necklace which looked like a treasure hounded for years ,

"Your mum would wear it for you, never miss it , and never give it to anyone, I love you" were what he said to me.

With that he kissed us all goodbye and left.

We were crying, my Mom had to comfort us and made us close our eyes and block our ears, despite that I heard all they were

saying.

"Gomez, are you surprised to see me?” Santiago laughed wickedly.

"Where is your family, don't think they would escape this little show, search for them!” We began

hearing footsteps as they started opening doors, wardrobes and even the ceiling.

"There are not here, boss.”

"Well, you've done a good job hiding them but I'd definitely come back you know, your wife can't hide

with that beautiful daughter of yours forever.” He said amidst forced laughter.

"Please leave my family out, I'm the one who hurt you.”

"Shut up and bring the remaining shares!"

There was no need fighting a lost cause, my father gave him all the money. Under split seconds, we

heard a gunshot, my resolve collapsed, my mum and sister froze like they had been electrocuted, we all

knew it was my father.

That changed our lives forever.

I didn't know too much about him but I knew he loves his family, he loved me and I kept the only thing he ever gave me so precious,

The necklace.
