The pinch of pain ran through her head. Slowly and gently she opened her eyes but still did not see anything, more like blurred bright surroundings in the three-meter radius.
She gulped down harder and hissed, feeling the sting on her neck. Suddenly she remembered what happened. ‘This collar.’ She touched it gently with her fingertips and realized it was electrified.
“Pretty smart moves, huh?!” A cold harsh voice echoed in the room. Shivers ran down her whole body. She knew she fucked it up. He would surely kill her for even trying to get out of that room.
Abruptly, she straightened her back. Hissing with the pain, still. Carson sighed, watching her struggling. ‘She sure is a lot of work.’ He thought to himself, approaching her.
As soon as his hand touched her arm, to help her up. Her reflexes jumped in, and she quickly moved back, rejecting his touch. He was surprised for a second but didn’t mind it much.
“I’m just helping you.” He whispered, seeing how her lips were quivering with fear. That was enough to satisfy him.
She let him help her. After she was settled down, stealing glances at him as he noticed. He sat in front of her. Keeping his legs down on the bed. But his eyes never left her face.
“Do you not like it here?” His question took her by surprise. She wasn’t hoping to hear that but a nice scold and yelling.
“I…” Before she could say anything else, he interrupted.
“I don’t like forcing people to live with me. If you don’t like it here, I’ll send you back where you came from.” He suggested with his jaw clenching and hands firmly holding as if he was barely holding it back.
“No!” A sudden shriek with a pitchy voice left her mouth. It startled him. “I like it here.” She remembered how Theo wouldn’t even think twice before bringing a gun to her head.
Surely, living with Carson could be way worse or even more dangerous. But if she steps back now, it will be her death the next moment. She doesn’t want to die before living her life to the fullest.
“Then why did you try to run away?” He asked, knitting her brows in confusion.
“I wasn’t.” She lied, gulping down, stealing from his eyes, “I just wanted to get some fresh air.” She replied, lowering her head in shame.
At one glance he knew she was lying. ‘She does make a good liar.’ His mind was getting full of her. Her face, her behavior, her embarrassed self, her blushing cheeks, and especially her beautiful eyes. The moment he noticed her, he knew he didn’t waste his money.
“Is this room too much suffocating?” He asked, with a little cheeky smirk on his face. She shook her head, forgetting to keep to her words.
“You are moving to my room tonight. It doesn't matter if this one is suffocating or not.” He cleared his throat, fixing his coat. Standing on his feet, he remembered some business to take care of if he wants to come back to her quickly.
“Yo…Your room?” Luna stuttered a whisper. He stopped, turning back to her, with a swift move he leaned down, holding her chin with the tip of his finger, and he lifted her face.
Making her eyes stare into his. Like a sudden flash, she was able to see his eyes clearly. Don’t know if it was because the distance was too close or maybe she was getting better. But she was sure of his oceanic eyes with smoothness, a glimpse of happiness and emptiness together, and a lot of sadness filled in those orbs.
“Possibly, our room from now on.” He whispered, his eyes falling onto her lips. He gulped back his desire. Quickly getting away from her and leaving her in the room.
“Is there a problem sir?” Drake asked, trying to peek inside the room. Carson saw his face and slammed the door.
Without thinking twice he took Drake’s hand and put it on his chest. Drake’s eyes grew wider at the scene of it. What the hell is Carson doing? Even the bodyguards were taken aback.
“Wh… What are you doing?” Drake tried to take his hand away but getting out of Carson’s grip is impossible for everyone. He is much stronger.
“Let me go!” Drake hissed with wide eyes, getting embarrassed in front of the bodyguards.
“Do you think it’s the normal heartbeat of a person?” Carson’s question was dumb surprisingly. Drake was confused about what has gotten into him.
“Huh?!” He made a bewildering sound.
“Is it or not?” Carson was forcing him to concentrate. Drake, not entirely sure of it, did whatever he was asked to.
“I think it is a bit faster than usual. Wait a second.” Drake suddenly thought of a solution. He put his tablet in the bodyguard’s hand and placed his other hand on his chest.
Trying to differentiate the heartbeats of himself and Carson.
“Hmm, Your’s is definitely fast,” Drake concluded.
“Call an ambulance.” Carson’s reply made the bodyguards burst out in laughter. Both Drake and Carson looked at them, giving them the cold death stare.
“Let’s go to the hospital. You can’t afford to get sick right now.” Drake agreed with Carson. He has never seen Carson like this before. As if Carson has lost his mind.
“Hmm!” Carson nodded and started to walk out of the mansion to get into the car. Drake took his tablet and followed Carson.
“Hey!” The bodyguard whispered to the other one. “Do you think they are ..” He signaled with his hand interconnecting. Thinking if they are in an intimate relationship.
“You idiot! Why would the boss bring a girl if that was the case.” The other one shook his head in disbelief at the stupidity of his colleague.
“I think they are. Maybe the boss is bisexual.” He was sticking to his own beliefs.
“Whatever.” The other one sighed, not bothering to clear it to him.
“Mr. Carson, you don’t have any problems. Your reports came out clear.” The doctor showed a genuine smile to him.
“Stop fucking with me. Tell me properly why my heartbeat suddenly rises.” Carson wasn’t having his words.
The doctor sighs, he knows how Carson is and he won’t leave the doctor alone if the doctor won’t give him some kind of explanation, “Well, you don’t have any heart disease or anything else at all. Tell me, were you nervous at the moment?”
“Huh?! Nervous?” Carson raised his brow, “That can’t be!” He denied.
“Then what were you doing when your heartbeat rose?” Doctor asked, cluelessly, trying to get Carson away from him.
The flashes of Luna’s face and her lips, her eyes, ran through Carson’s head like the series. He gulped down, remembering how much he wanted to do something.
“Nothing. All clear. I’m good to go then. Keep up the hard work in the hospital!” Carson quickly got up and left the room in a hurry.
Drake and the doctor were too stunned to speak anything.
“What is wrong with him?” The doctor asked Drake.
Drake turned his head to the doctor, “Shouldn’t you be the one to know? You are a doctor for Heaven’s sake!” Drake sighed in frustration and left to follow Carson.
“What did I do wrong?” The doctor asked himself, checking Carson’s reports again. “Nothing is wrong with him.”
What do you think is wrong with him? 😂
“We are here,” Drake remarked, entering the biggest room in the mansion. Unfortunately, Luna can’t notice that though. “I’ll show you around.” He smiled softly, offering his hand to her.For a moment it was weird for him to offer a hand. ‘Does he know my weakness?’ She thought and a series of quivers ran under her skin. She can’t even imagine what will happen if someone finds out that she is blind.“I’ll walk by myself. Thank you.” Luna hesitated, she really didn’t want to get caught in the act.Drake sighed and took her hand by surprise. Slowly and at a gentle pace, he moved around the room, letting her take her time to adjust. He didn’t mind her touching the
“I think you should see a doctor as well.” Carson was worried about drake. It was clear in his eyes. For a moment Drake stood frozen at his spot. That worry which he never had before was suddenly back. He could feel that old friend he missed in him for so long. Why suddenly was he worried? He never cared once when Drake got shot three times in his arms and legs.“Uhm… I don’t think it’s that severe though.” Drake felt a bit uneasy with the sudden change. It’s true that sudden changes even if those are of love and care will feel uncomfortable and unreliable at the beginning.Carson sensed the discomfort and took his hand away. “Yeah alright.” His temples twitched and he opened the doo
A sigh escaped his mouth when he reached by car. Glancing back at the door, he despised himself for some reason. Looking around he put his Ipad on the car and took out a cigarette, lighting it up. Drake fell deep into his memories of her. The first time he saw her was just like a ray of sunshine in that piggsy dungeon place named a human auction house. She was sparkling in the dark, her smile when their eyes met, still flutters his heart. ‘You dirtsy bitch!! Mop it up quickly. I don’t want to see old faggots semen all over the place.’ A woman who seemed like a bossy type, smacked her head while running to the other side. The smile on the girl’s face vanished which made Drake’s heart sink into sorrow. His rage against that place overgrew. He just wanted to get that girl out of there somehow. So he tried to talk it out of her. But seeing her walking towards him, he couldn’t move a bit. Just like he was frozen in time and space. ‘Oh!!’ She bumped into him. ‘I’m sorry. I couldn’t
“Grand entrance as always.” Top huffed, shaking his head watching Carson coming over. “That piece of shit needed that much.” Greg seemed annoyed and so done with it. That took Carson’s attention. But he knew what it could be. “How did the announcement go?” Carson asked, adjusting his suit while taking a seat. Drake pinched the tip of his nose, sitting beside Carson. “Same old Italian shit! I can’t be with him. Apparently, it hurts his mafia pride. A son being gay in mafia ain’t acceptable.” Top sighed, remembering his father’s clear words. Pouring wine for Carson and Drake. “It’s okay, babe. I’m not leaving you.” Greg snickered, pecking his lips. Top blinked, giving him a tight smile, agreeing with him. “I’ll be right back,” Greg whispered, rushing to the restroom. Watching him go, Top’s expressions changed from being awfully happy to sorrow and uncertainty. Carson and Top have been friends for years now. From business partners to friends, it wasn’t that hard. Drake would just fi
“Get me everything on Yakim,” Carson ordered walking toward the car while Drake followed him behind. “Everything dirty or corrupted you mean?” Drake was just making sure of Carson's orders. “You dumbass! How many years has it been and you still gotta ask that. Everything means everything. Even his fucking family.” Carson Spat out at Drake, growling with an unknown irritation at seeing Yakim’s face on his property. ‘I feared this day would come. Does he really need to go to such lengths? I gotta talk to Mr.Russell before he does something foolish. He needs to learn that we don’t hurt women and children.’ Drake went deep into his thoughts about how scary and heartless Carson was getting day by day without missing any. “Are you gonna drive or sleep?” Carson glared in the mirror at Drake. Without uttering a single word, Drake drove off. “Turn left. Go to the East warehouse.” Carson calmly ordered, deeply reading something on the tablet he was holding. Drake glanced in the mirror,
‘He has finally reached the limits. All I can now see in his eyes is death and nothing else. How could it be? The kid I used to play with. The one who used to defy killing over anything or anyone. How could he just kill the woman who raised him when he was left all alone. How could he be so heartless?’ Drake cursed himself for letting her fall over into his arms. She doesn’t deserve a man like him. She deserves better. “What have I done?” Drake growled, punching his head in frustration. Tears of relentlessness flowed down his cheeks. He regretted doing what he did. All of it. “Drake!” A man rushed inside the room where Drake was kept as ordered by Carson. “Boss wants you to come down soon. He has to get going.” “Who the fuck are you?” Drake rolled his eyes, fixing his tie and wearing his shoes. “Oh me! I'm a chore boy here.” The guy smiled, showing all of his nasty teeth and chewing the meat he had in his hands. “Chore boy? And you dare to talk to me casually?” Drake sighed
“Dispatch everyone to cover the mansion. Don’t let a single fly out of this place. You hear me!” Carson grunted, squinching his eyes. The anger in his voice sent shivers down Drake’s spine. “Yes, Sir. Right away.” Drake said and rushed out ordering everyone to cover around the mansion. “Mommy!” Carl opened his eyes, finding himself on his bed while his mother was in the bathroom. He could only hear her scowling the pain in her heart through those doors. A big frown dwells up on his face not understanding what was happening to his mother. So he decided to step out of the room. “Huh?” Suddenly he was startled to see many guards running around crazily, shouting at each other, ‘Find the girl! Quick!’“I need some water.” Carl sighed, ignoring the rush he went straight to the kitchen. Which was, however, empty. Not even the maids were there. “Ugh! I can’t reach it.” He groaned trying to reach up the table to get the glass. In his sudden attempts, he ended up throwing the glass on the
“Do you really want to keep her here?” Drake asked, glancing around the shitty room. “She should have been put here in the first place,” Carson replied, calmly. Drake flinched and kept staring at Luna. “Go to your room. I’ll call you when it is the time to change the Iv.” Carson put down his cigarette and smirked, turning his back to Drake, “Or maybe I’ll do it myself.” “Yourself. But you don’t even know the basics of how to…” Before Drake could argue any further, Carson turned around. “Shut up and leave! Always remember who is in charge. I’m not your friend anymore. Stop talking down to me. I can only listen to a limit.” Carson stared at him and waited for him to leave the room. Drake took his cue and left the room. Carson sighed, “It’s just the beginning and you are in such misery.” He lay down on the other side of the bed, tossing around, he faced Luna, “You sure are worth the money I bet on you.” he smiled, staring at her face. For a second he couldn’t just take his eyes awa
