“Hey Katherine, where are you?” Katie asked the moment I answered the call, I had just left my dad's place. The house felt silent this morning when we were having breakfast, I wondered what was wrong if they had an argument but neither of them said no and that it was just once in a while thing when couples are short of words to say to each other.

I hadn't bought their silly excuses but in order not to pry deeper I had let it go hoping they would tell me when they have both calmed down, I told them I would be leaving after breakfast.

Dad had instructed his driver to drop me off at my apartment and I was close to my door when I heard my phone ring and it was Katie.

“I just got to my apartment, what's wrong?” I asked.

“Nothing, you didn't call me yesterday when you left and I was worried, I tried calling your number but it wasn't connecting.”

“I slept off early, I was exhausted. I'm sorry about that. How was the party celebration?” I asked her.
