My New Book Prologue

“No! No! Father, you can’t do this to me! You can’t do this!” A tiny voice cried out, her voice echoing through the four corners of the room.

“Stand up!” A loud voice boomed through her ears and ran through her body, causing her to hold her tears.

He stood up from his throne, all tall and authoritative. The royal staff in his hand touched the ground and silenced everyone in the room. He studied his steps casually, walking towards her and sending streams of shivers down her spine.

“Stand up!” He ordered.

She didn’t need to be told twice. She scrambled up immediately, balancing her feet and lowering her head to the ground. He raised his hand to her, and she recoiled at the thought of him hitting her head, 

“Stacey, you’re nothing but a weak wolf. And your presence in this pack is not needed. I regret the day I gave birth to you. And today is one of my happiest days in this pack, to finally see that you have a use for me.” He said without mercy.

She clenched her fist so hard her nails pierced into her flesh, but it was still no match for the pain she felt in her heart. He had said all words to her, abused and tortured her down to her dead mother, but she had never felt this much pain before. Her heart shattered into a million pieces, and her chest felt heavy that minute. 

Hot tears streamed down her eyes, the same tears she had told herself she wouldn’t cry over her father anymore. 

“Father, please!” She begged and went back on her knees.

She reached for his leg, taking hold of it and managing to look into his eyes. 

“I’ll do anything! I’ll become a slave if you want me to! I’ll wash with the omegas if you want me to! I’ll do anything. But don’t let me go with him, please, father! I’ll do anything! I’ll kill myself even if you want me to! Father, please!” She pleaded persistently, not minding the kooks the people of the pack gave her.

Her heart broke as the look on her father’s face turned into disgust. He was not giving her an option; he had made up his mind already. 

“Why don’t you want to go with me, little thing?” a voice interrupted, and she felt all the nerves in her body go dead as she heard it.

 He was the man of power, the head of all devils and the same man her father wanted her to go with. Her heart pounded heavily on her chest as he walked towards her. She didn’t think twice before leaving her fathers leg and scrambling off her feet. She rushed back, trying to get as far as she could get away from him until her back hit the cold wall. 

She gulped down as her tear stricken eyes stared at him, fear consuming every part of her.

“Seize her.” his baritone voice ordered.

“No. No! Father! Father! Father!” She yelled out.

Suddenly, everyone froze as she yelled out and stood still. Her eyes bored into every soul in the room, looking at them like she was checking their darkest desires. 

“I said, seize her!” 

“What’s happening?” 

“What’s going on?”

“What’s she doing?”

“She’s shifting. She’s shifting to her wolf.” 

“I warned you father! I…do..don’t…want..to…go…with him…” she said slowly as the cracks of her bone filled the room.

He moved towards her, trying to hold her down but was met with the greatest shock of his life.  His eyes were almost popping out of their sockets as he stared at her. All his life he had prayed for this and had thought the moon goddess didn’t want him to have it, but he had not expected it to come in the form of his useless and worthless daughter. 

“Stacey!” He yelled out before a white light illuminated everyone.
