I get in the car with Lorenzo and I can see my daughter, Camilo is carrying her in his arms and she is still unconscious.

"Don't worry, the doctor is already waiting at home. She will be fine."

"She needs a hospital," I mention but Lorenzo is already shaking his head.

"I promise he'll get the same medical attention at our house, maybe even better." Knowing that arguing is futile, I sigh and let my head rest on his shoulder.

"Why did you come after me?" I whisper.

"I wanted to save her and keep you safe, but if you hadn't come, we'd probably both be dead. Thank you for coming for us." He shakes his head and runs his hands down my back and through my hair. His touch is very pleasant, and the relief I feel knowing this is over takes a huge weight off my shoulders.

"You don't have to be strong," he tells me.
