'This is the first time Levi has been allowed out of the dungeon in over eighteen years, so this better be good, Alpha Maximus!' Alpha Cal snaps. Levi squints his eyes at me as Alpha Cal says my name. 'Your parents tried to save my beautiful mate, my love. She was my whole world,' he whimpers. 'I'm sorry they couldn't save her,' I say to him. 'I'm sorry my father killed your parents, Alpha Maximus. I am truly so sorry,’ Levi says. 'Me too,' I reply sympathetically. 'This isn't some kind of family reunion! So, I suggest you hurry up with your business before I kill you!' Alpha Cal shouts. Even though he is old, probably in his late sixties, he is still very clearly strong and well-built. 'Actually, Alpha Cal, that’s why I’m here,' I smile. 'What are you talking about?' he yells. 'I have someone I would like to introduce to both of you,' I say to him. I turn around and take Hope’s hand. She stands next to me. Levi falls to his knees, crying in disbelief. He reaches his hand out
Hope We join the hustle and bustle of the banquet. The pack members dance with one another. They are laughing and smiling and having a great time. ‘You wouldn’t think we just killed their Alpha and took over. They all seem rather happy he’s dead,’ I say to Alpha Maximus. ‘Considering how he treated his own son. I can only imagine how he treated his subjects,’ he says. My father is sitting at one of the dining tables eating. It must have been years since he has had a proper meal. We walk over and join him. Alpha Maximus pours my father and himself a whiskey and passes me a wine. I feel queasy and pass the wine onto the she-wolf beside me. She smiles and nods in thanks. The pack members cheer for us, and we continue to celebrate. I manage to eat part of my meal but quickly excuse myself and run to the nearest bathroom. Once I’ve emptied my stomach, I feel better again. So, I rejoin everyone at the table. I’m so caught up in conversation with my father about my life that I haven't r
It’s been three months now since we killed Alpha Cal. My father is about to return to the Dark Moon pack as Alpha. We accompany him to the car. He has gained his weight back and is no longer extremely thin. He trained with Alpha Maximus daily with the rest of the pack, which helped him gain muscle. You would never know it’s the same man we saved three months earlier. I cling onto his arm as we walk toward the car. 'Papa, make sure to be back here in four months. You know I’ll be due to give birth then,' I remind him. 'Of course! I don’t want to miss the moment my grand-pup comes into this world,’ my father smiles. He tries to hug me goodbye, but my stomach is already huge at five months pregnant. He laughs and hugs me from the side instead. Alpha Maximus and I wave goodbye and watch the car drive into the distance. ‘Time for lunch,’ I say. ‘We just had lunch,’ he replies. ‘Well, I’m still hungry,’ I laugh. He smiles, takes my hand, and we walk inside and go to the kitchen to ea
The sequel to Alpha Maximus: 'The Lycan’s Daughter' Blurb: Lylah is the result of love between a Lycan and a Hybrid of half a witch and half wolf. On the contrary, Lylah is quite different. She has no magic, no wolf, and no worries because she has her loving mate, which is all that matters to her. Then one day, everything changes. Vampires have come out of hiding and are killing the odd human in the outskirts of cities and towns. Pack warriors are organised to seek them out before the humans discover supernaturals exist. But then, a tragedy takes place, changing Lylah's life forever. Lylah's anger for the vampires deepens with each passing day, and she decides to seek vengeance on them by tracking them down and killing them. However, things don't go the way she had planned. Chapter 1 Exiting the school gates, I see my older twin brothers, Theo and Leo, waiting for me. They appear bored but straighten up and smile as a group of she-wolves giggle and walk by. 'I wish you would bot
'Alpha Maximus,' Micah says, graciously bowing his head.'Micah, we were just talking about you,' Alpha Maximus says.'Oh really? Good things, I hope?' He says and smiles at me endearingly.I blush, 'Come on, Dad, move out of the way so Micah can come inside. You take up the whole doorframe, you know?''I'm a Lycan. I can't help being this big,' he shrugs, steps away from the door, and returns to the dining table.Micah sits next to me. Our pinky fingers touch discreetly under the table. Micah hooks his finger around mine. We remain that way with coy smiles. The attraction between us is obvious to everyone in the room.'Micah, I hear you will soon take over as Alpha of Storm Glenn?' Theo asks.'Yes, my father is thinking when I graduate next month that I would be ready to be Alpha,' he replies.'I've heard you're one of the best fighters around?' Alpha Maximus asks, joining the conversation.'Well, I don't know about that,' he says, giving me a wink.My finger tightens around his, and
Micah walks with me to the front door, 'We should go camping for your eighteenth birthday?' He says.'That sounds amazing. Just you and me?' I ask.'Just you and me,' he winks.'Did someone say camping?' My father, Alpha Maximus, asks behind me.'Micah is going to take me camping for my birthday,' I smile.'What a wonderful idea! I'll let your mother know we will all be going camping,' he says and walks back into the house. My shoulders slump, and I give Micah an apologetic look.'Don't worry about it. The more, the merrier, right?' Micah says.'Sure,' I sigh.'Plus, we can always go camping together alone another time,' he smiles.'That's true,' I say, perking up at the idea.Micah leans in and places a gentle kiss on my cheek.'Goodnight, Princess,' he says quietly.'Goodnight, Micah,' I wave.I stay lingering in the large doorway until I can no longer see Micah. My hand caresses the spot on my cheek where he left a kiss. As I close the door and turn around, I bump into my twin brot
Excited to spend the day with Micah, I wake up early and run to my bathroom. Unfortunately, the packhouse being an old castle has not yet been modernised. I've complained to my Mum and Dad about it, but they say the castle is perfect the way it is and that what is good for the gander is good for the goose. So, it's apparently good to put more effort into things such as pumping the water ourselves instead of simply turning on a tap. So, I begrudgingly pump the water into the large, round wooden tub. Once it's full, I reach for the bowl of rose petals and scatter a handful into the water. Steam rises above the water along with the aroma of the petals. I pull off my nighty, toss it aside, and step into the water. Slowly submerging myself in the tub, I hold my breath for as long as possible. I fantasise I'm in the ocean, and Micah is swimming toward me. His hand reaches out towards mine. My hand, in return, reaches out to his. Our fingers touch, and we clasp our fingers together. Micah's
I place the dagger back into its sheath and tuck it into my belt. Then I take fifteen steps back from the tallest tree stump. A couple of years ago, Micah and I spent time carving silly faces into all the stumps we use as targets. I halt once I'm far enough away from the stumps and take the two old daggers tucked into the waist of my belt. Then, flourishing them in my hand, I aim and throw them at the tallest target. They spin through the air and hit the target but land an inch off where I had aimed.'Try it with your new dagger,' Micah says.'I don't want to damage it, though,''You won't,' he laughs, 'Trust me. It's indestructible,' he smirks. His crooked smile makes me giddy and puts me in a trance. I nod in response. With my new dagger in hand, I narrow my eyes at the target and throw. The dagger struck right between the eyes of the target.'Bullseye!' I squeal.Micah lifts me and hugs me, 'I knew you could do it,' he says and then walks over to the stump and pulls the daggers out
