Threatened miscarriage

Seth Allen stared at the wide-open doors of Benson IVF clinic, in apprehension and worry. It had been six solid months since he last stepped within the wide hospital walls. His knuckles turned white from gripping the steering wheel too tight.

It wasn't that he was ashamed to go in. Heck, he had walked in proudly, happy about the thought of having a bouncing, healthy child. And for the first month, he had waited earnestly for a call from the clinic, telling him they had found a surrogate for him. At least that would've put his mother at rest.

But he had gotten nothing. Neither a call nor a text.

In the weeks that followed, he slowly forgot. It wasn't his fault, he had a company to run. Thousands of employees at Allen and Sons depended on him for their daily bread. He had been thoroughly busy, setting up a new branch in New Zealand. Signing a partnership contract that would help put his company on the front lines, doing charity, and getting laid in between.

He had forgotten all about having a baby until a month before.

Seth clenched his jaw, opened the car door, and slid out of the driver's seat. His blonde hair shone in the hot California sun, and it was formidably hot in the blue suit he wore.

A group of nurses passing by squealed in delight as he walked into the hospital and Seth couldn't resist. He threw them a wink, chuckling as one pretended to faint.

"At least, I didn't lose my charm in the accident." He muttered blandly to himself.

The accident had been horrible. He was on his way to Nevada, to meet Nate who needed his help to secure a business partner. Nate ran a manufacturing company and had hoped Seth would help him secure an investor. From nowhere, a truck appeared almost ramming into him. Seth had done the only thing he could think of at that moment. He swerved his car into the mountains and the rest of his memory concerning that trip was pain and agonizing agony.

He couldn't recall much that didn't involve searing pain through his limbs and several doctors hovering around him, speaking gibber. Three surgeries later, he was fine, with only a slight limp to his left leg and a major flaw that prompted him to visit Benson IVF clinic again.

Seth sighed as he pushed the door to the weird doctor's office open but was met with a middle-aged woman instead who beamed widely at him.

She was beautiful despite the age lines around her eyes. Her platinum blonde hair was clipped to the back of her head, and she wore a short white dress with a plunging neckline that almost spilled the melons on her chest.

Huge gigantic melons. Seth felt his body react and shook his head mentally. The last thing he wanted to do was bang a doctor who could probably tell why he was there.

Heck, he probably had it stamped on his face. "This man can have no children. He is infertile."

Oh, his mother had been thoroughly devastated. She had cried buckets beside him, where he lay on the hospital bed staring at the doctor in shock.

"I'm sorry." The doctor had said, sounding the least bit sorry. "The accident had damaged so much, we could only save what we could."

Yeah, except for my freaking testicles, Seth thought as he took a seat.

"Good morning. I called yesterday to book an appointment."

The doctor smiled, shifting around in her seat so that her boobs would jiggle around, catching Seth's eyes.

"Ah, yes... Mr. Allen." She purred and the hairs on his skin stood at attention.

Maybe after the consultation, he would ask for her number. How was a man supposed to resist such sweet sweet temptation?

"You said that you had requested a surrogate mother, yes?"

He nodded. "Yeah. Six Months ago. I didn't think it would take this long to find a surrogate. Heck, if I was my sperm, I'd have died in the freezer."

Though he sincerely hoped it hadn't died. This was the only chance he had to be a father. Sure he had wanted a baby just to lay his mother off his back, but now, he needed one. He had only one shot and he couldn't lose it.

The doctor hummed and whipped out her spectacles from a case on her desk, reading through his file while sneaking sensual glances at him. He ignored her until she gasped and he wondered if she had suddenly orgasmed. It wouldn't be the first time it had happened anyway.

"Oh... I apologize, Mr. Allen." Her tone turned crisp and professional. "But it seems, there has been a mix-up."

Shit! His heart palpitated wildly in his rib cage and he shifted uneasily.

"What do you mean, mix up?"

Isabella groaned, patting her hand around her to search for the ringing phone. Her eyes remained closed and she mumbled unintelligible words as she searched her bed sleepily.

Can't a pregnant woman sleep in peace? And who the heck was calling her at ten in the morning?! She hoped to God that it wasn't Kevin.

The bastard had been bugging her ever since she saw him at the park a few days ago. She was packing up her things after a well-enjoyed picnic when he approached her, staring like he had seen a ghost.

She ignored him mostly and walked away. But Kevin wasn't relenting. He kept texting her with weird lovey-dovey messages.

Disgusting, she thought. He probably thinks this is his baby.

When the shrilling didn't stop, she sat up groggily and lazily opened her eyes. The device was on the floor glaring the name 'Benson IVF clinic' on its screen.

Isabella frowned, muttering as she picked the call."Why on earth are they calling? I'm not even due yet."

"Hello, Miss. Rogers?"

"Yes?"

"Can you please come down to the clinic? We apologize for the inconvenience but there's been a mistake."

"What the hell do you mean by mistake?"

Thirty minutes later, she was seen running into the hospital in a green loose cotton dress, panting as she got to the doctor's office. At the door, she met a rather indecently dressed doctor and a familiar-looking man standing by the door.

The man looked agitated, running his hands continuously and rapidly through his luscious blond locks.

"How could you make this mistake?!" He yelled, green eyes flashing furiously. "I asked for a surrogate mother and you used my sperm as a donor sperm?! What the hell?!"

The doctor pursed her lips, her head bowed in shame. "We're sorry for the mix-up. Doctor Rolando, the previous doctor, was in charge of this. It must've slipped his mind-"

"I don't want to hear it! We'll meet in court. This is robbery or something. My lawyer will contact your superiors, I'm sure."

Isabella gasped at his words, drawing the attention of the duo. The man stared at her for a moment before narrowing his intense green eyes.

"You!" Seth hissed. Standing before him was the crazy witch who had accused him of being a pervert. Oh, he would never forget how her brown eyes had flashed at him in disdain or that potty mouth of hers. The mouth that was presently parted open in shock.

He glanced down at the rest of her body and realization dawned on him.

"No-no-no. Tell me it isn't what I think." He whispered and turned to the doctor. "She's not the woman you gave my sperm to, right?"

Isabella blinked, her brain recognizing his voice in an instant. "What the hell is he saying?!"

The doctor, feeling quite attacked, shifted away from both of them, with her hands put out before her in defence.

"Please, calm down," She begged weakly. "Let's not make a fuss-"

Seth snarled, facing the pregnant woman who glared daggers at him. The last he remembered of her was her mopey black hair and unshapely body. Then, how was it that her hair seemed to shine in the white LED lights that lit the hallway? His eyes dropped to the mounds on her chest. Even with the loose green dress, he could make out the gentle swell and tightened his jaw.

Had she been sent by his mother those six months? Was it all part of her plan to pretend to be unattractive and then have his baby?

"This was all part of your plan, wasn't it? " He glared accusingly, even though a part of him knew he wasn't speaking reasonably. "You pretend to be all innocent but you're just like them. A lying cheap gold digger!"

A loud growl escaped Isabella and she landed a slap across the brute's face. "Gold digger? You're a freaking bastard! I don't care what this doctor says, but you are not the father of my baby! My baby won't have a jackass for a father."

"You are a crazy woman!" Seth hissed and glared at the doctor. "How is she even allowed to have a child? Did no one check her mental health or something-"

Fury burned through Isabella and she charged at him with all her might. "You're the crazy unstable pervert-"

A sharp burst of pain thawed at her abdomen and she doubled over. Her brown eyes squeezed tight and she groaned. That wasn't a baby kick.

Seth watched the charade she put on and rolled his eyes. "Sure. Pretend to be hurt, as if that'll save you from-"

"Oh my God!" Someone screamed in the hallway. "Blood!"

And true to her words, blood trickled down Isabella's legs.
