Avyanna
Four years ago
I was gonna be late for school again even with the fact that I hadn't slept at all. My life was going so great. How many thirteen-year-olds have insomnia and have to take pills to sleep?. How many? Maybe numerous, but none that I know of. My wolf, vesta growled, she needed rest. I had been overworking her since we had synced.
I hurried downstairs because Elektra must have been waiting for me. I scurried past my brother who was getting out, we hardly talked to each other.
I threw early morning greetings at my uncle Stefan(the stand-in Alpha). I disliked him, and so did my wolf. I didn't care about being Alpha or Omega. I just wanted to live like a normal depressed teenage wolf.
School passed in a blur, but it did a good job depressing me the more. My school and classmates wouldn't let me be like it was a crime to be chubby or dark-skinned. I was weird, so what?. They are all the same and honestly, that's what's more spooky.
I find it disgusting that the human race, especially the teens, has resorted to body-shaming and criticism. Their brains and thinking faculty are microscopic.
Elektra tried to talk me out of it, but I couldn't have it off me.
Elektra wouldn't understand, she was from south Alparo, very light-skinned with a long straight nose and gorgeous hair. She was beautiful. I, on the other hand, was born ugly and I'm probably gonna die ugly too.
At the sound of the dismissing bell, I grabbed my bag hurrying to join Elektra who was already waiting for me at the entrance.
I had to get some books at my locker for the weekend.
Someone almost slammed my fingers off.
“What the…..!”.
I was going to rip someone's throat, Vesta was already cranky from our lack of sleep.
Angus, the perpetrator, had his hands by the sides of my face locking me in.
His face was so close to mine, almost touching my nose. I was pissed and he was fuming with anger. I didn't understand why he locked me in. I didn't get why he was giving me this menacing glare.
“Get out of the way, Angus!”.
“No, I won't”.
“Get out or I will make you, Angus!”.
“Urgh!!! I hate your lazy ass”. He groaned and banged his fist on my locker.
“I want you to give it up, you are not going to fight for the Alpha position”.
“Are you scared I'll beat you?”
“I am not joking with you. You are going to back off. I will rip you apart before you even think of it. Do you understand me. It's enough you have murdered our Dad”.
I couldn't stand down and watch him say crap. He could berate me but he would not blame me for the death of a man I lived for, a man I loved to the moon and back. I struck him in the stomach and pushed him out of my way. He fell on his back and sat upon the elbow.
“you will not stand here and lecture on me who gave a sh*t about Dad, you were playing video games. VIDEO GAMES!! Who does that?! I was screaming, banging on your f*cking door. You asked me to leave. TO LEAVE!.”
I went down and grabbed by his collar, I was larger than him.
“Just keep thinking about your stupid Alpha position, while I hate you forever”.
I let go of his shirt collar and ran outside.
I ran into Alcinder's hands, he had joined Elektra waiting for me. I told them what transpired between me and Angus. Alcinder helped me in the car to sit with the driver. He rolled up his sleeves and signaled Elektra and together they went back into school probably to look for Angus.
Alcinder
I've had enough with that little punk picking on yanna. He better be prepared for what's coming his way. I rolled my sleeves and gave Elektra a slight nod as a signal and she followed me into their school.
I found him in the gym talking about jargon with his friends.
I rushed in and punched him square on the nose, he began to bleed. His friends all scampered off, I knew they would because they are all lily-livered.
Elektra healed his nose. I punched his face and broke his nose again. Elektra healed it likewise.
I grabbed him off the ground, he tried to wiggle out of my grasp.
“This is just a taste of what you will get when next you harass Avyanna. And I promise you, they will be no healer for you this time. I will separate your flesh from your bones, just try me”. I threw him to the ground and walked out.
We drove off to the cottage, but I had to leave early to have a meeting with my Dad. After the Prophet's message last year and my outburst, there have been meetings and debates. Gossips too, but no one dared to approach me directly or my Dad.
After the meeting, I headed out for an evening jog as my routine. I noticed I was being followed, I increased my speed only to fall over a piece of log.
My aunt, Velda, helped me up.
“Jeez! You scared me, Aunt Vel!”.
“That was the intention”. She answered with a fake giggle.
“How have you been faring?, Alcinder”.
“I am well enough”.
“Are you coping well?”.
“with?.”
“being without a wolf and all this pressure you.”
“I know that you didn't come all the way here to ask me how I am faring, Aunty Vel. You might as well spill what you have to say”. This woman irked me.
“I'm just worried for you, you work too much for your age. I want to remind you that life isn't always the way you want it to be”.
“Thank you for your concern. If you don't mind I'll love to continue my evening run”. Why couldn't she just let me be?.
“I heard of what you did to the late Alpha William's son. That was careless and reckless of you. It could start a war amongst our peaceful and consisting packs. You're letting your anger and frustration get to you. That is not a proper attitude for royal blood”.
I despised this woman and wanted her out of my way. Whatever I did was none of her business. I wouldn't let her get to me nor was I going to give away any emotion.
“Thank you again for your genuine concern about me, I appreciate it”.
I didn't wait for her to say anything else. I continued my run, listening to music to drown my sufferings.
Four years ago Alcinder I had been running for an hour after the confrontation with Velda. I headed home as the night was approaching. I freshened up and headed for the dining table and found the pack healer sitting there. I am sure that it is my missing wolf. I sat by the right side of my dad in between my mom and dad acting as if nothing happened. “Good evening Dad, good evening Mom”. I kissed my mom on her cheek. My aunt and her mate were already seated with her children. I barely spoke with my spooky cousins even though we were in the same age range. Everyone was quiet, behaving like they didn't notice that the prophet wasn't there. My mom gave my hand a gentle squeeze. “The healer has something to tell you, Alcinder”. My Dad said coldly. Why couldn't they ever tell me things in private? My issues are always tabled before these fake households. “We have tried our best to locate your wolf but it is to no avail, we believe the problem is from within you”. The healer announced
The Four years ago continues...AvyannaI couldn't sleep because of excitement and confusion. I wasn't tired and depressed like I always did every morning, there was a new surge of energy in me. I felt refreshed. The weather was beautifully cold and I wasn't prepared to bathe in that ice water. My mother would never let me use the water heater or the electric stove, I don't know what I did to that witch.I got into the bathroom and took off my clothes. Just then, I heard a banging on the door.“someone is inside already”. I half yelled.“Get your ugly black ass out of there!”. Angus bellowed.I could sense hitting the door, kicking it.Vesta was angry and I was getting annoyed by his childish demeanor.“I just got in here minutes ago, I will soon be done if you let me bathe in peace, Angus!”. I was yelling back.He could be such an asshole sometimes, I wonder how we are related, talk more of being twins.I could hear him blabbing at my mum, but that didn't bother me. I was trying to p
There is something about hating someone. The one doing the hating often gets more hurt than the person hated. Hatred gives you emotional pain, it punishes your heart and makes you bitter, clouding your sense of judgement. Velda was bitter, always vicious, and bloodthirsty from a tender age. She was the twin of Alcinder's Father. She felt betrayed and unloved by her parents. She felt invincible. Velda became rebellious believing that she wasn't allowed to be Alpha because she was female. However, on their 21st birthday, an opportunity was given for her battle for the title of Alpha of which she failed woefully. It was a free and fair fight on a cold night on top of the mountains of Alparo before the full moon. Velda was unsatisfied and felt that the moon goddess wasn't on her side, that she was being ganged up on and opposed because of her gender.Velda almost went rogue, she was powerful and had learned spell casting. She got mated to an ancient Vampire named Salvatore, fell in love
Present DayAvyannaMy Alarm wouldn't just go off. It kept ringing and ringing and ringing. “Urgh!!!!!!!! Let me sleep, you despicable monster of a clock”. I am very sure that my Alarm was sent to me from Hell. I am also sure she just rolled her eyes at me and called me a lazy ass.“Don't talk to me, Mister handsome Clock.”.I looked around my room and it was a mess. My clothes littered the whole room, on the bookshelves, on my study table, and on the bed, I slept on.I mentally cursed at myself. I was hungry and tired. The fight with my mother yesterday didn't help me at all. Why could she just love me with all my oddities?I know that sometimes I am unbearable and.. hard to deal with, but she doesn't make it easy for me to love her too.Why did you die, Father?First things first, This room needed one hell of a makeover. I can't believe the fact that I had not cleaned my room for two weeks, Elektra would kill me and what would Alcinder think of me.He loves me too much. As a Fri
AvyannaThe person behind the door kept banging on it repeatedly and left after he got tired. Why couldn't they do it here? Must it be to the hearing of everyone else?. I can't help but hate my mother. She was to protect me from all this chaos and pain but she's the one dragging me into. She adds salt to my injuries.Alcinder and Elektra sat side by side with me. I am tired of their constant display of apathy towards me. Right now, I don't care about their opinion of me. I have a gift I am proud no matter the consequences. I believe I was given this gift for a reason.“Let's go here what the healer has to say?”.“Are you sure?”. Alcinder asked. He creased his brow in worry.I got up and arranged my grey sweatpants and threw on black polo then smoother my massive curly silver hair with my hands. My palms were sweaty and I was beginning to feel nauseous.Hand in hand we went down the stairs to the living room. The whole place was decorated with a spiderman theme. Urgh! Like he was s
After Elektra had left, I arranged my room and dressed up. Today we were finalizing our arrangements for prom. I am finally leaving High school for good. The feeling was immeasurable. I am uncertain about how things are gonna turn out for me, but I'm stronger now.I am no longer that frail, and timid girl that needed pills to think and sleep.I packed my hair in a sleek ponytail, letting it cascade down my back in massive curls. I was finally letting my silver hair grow, no longer tinting it black.I wore my red leather pants with a black leather jacket and a white under-b-bodice. Making a good statement was what I was out for.My lips glowed and I smelt like lavender.Another Monday, My Last Monday in high school. Woohoo! As I stepped out to meet Alcinder and Elektra who had been waiting for me outside as they did for the past few years, their expressions were priceless.Alcinder choked on his coffee, while Elektra lifted her brows and mouthed a damn! The confidence I felt was portr
Angus checked his messages. He had seen Velda's message. She had been offering him proposals on how to secure the Alpha position. He wanted the Alpha position, but he didn't know if he wanted it at all cost. Before his father died, he felt that he had always favored Avyanna. If he hadn't approved of Avyanna, he wouldn't be in this position. Why couldn't he just vote unanimously for him to be the next Alpha? Why make him fight with a female?A female! The thought alone made Angus cringe. So, when he got a text from Velda he didn't think twice about putting on his leather Jacket and heading out to where what she had to offer him.He hopped out of the house avoiding his mother. He felt she doted on him too much these days.He was beginning to get worn out with the whole charade. After all, how could she hate her daughter in the way that she did yet she claimed she loved him?He trotted through the dark forest and after about twenty minutes he reached their arranged spot. After scanning
Avyanna returned Ruby and dashed off to the mall. She texted Elektra.Elektra had been no doubt very worried about Avyanna. She seemed too cranky and aloof. She couldn't help but wonder if her nightmares had returned. She cursed the fact that Avyannna's powers didn't allow her to read her mind or monitor her movements. She damned the powers of nature.Elektra had waited in the only shopping mall in their vicinity for about an hour and had been calling Avyanna but she wasn't responding. What was she up to? Elektra paced in front of the mall. She hoped she wasn't out making out with Alcinder while she burnt under the hot sun of Alparo. She called Alcinder.“Hey doucheface, is it Avyanna with you?”.“Nahh, I haven't seen her all day. Anything up? You guys are supposed to go shopping right?.”“yeah, we are. Bye”.Elektra checked her phone and got a text from Avyanna. She texted that she would be there in ten minutes.Elektra rolled her eyes and phr the phone in her pocket. This was not
