CHAPTER 6: CLUB

Shayana's POV

Today is the weekend. And just like in humans, weekends are rest days for students. Kyla invited me to her apartment, so I decided to cook something for us to eat.

Actually, what I have thought first when learning that I will live here, is how can I eat their food. Like I thought they actually eat animal flesh. But just like humans, they also made recipes from meat. Kinda different on what serves outside but it's not actually bad.

And my cooked that Kyla and Knight tasted is probably their first time eating that.

After I finished cooking, I prepared myself now. While I was tying my shoelaces, I saw something under my side table. I pick it up and realize it's a watch.

I know it's not mine, and probably it won't be Kyla's. It is for men. And there's only one man who's been here. Knight.

After realizing it was Knight's watch, I remember what happened the other day. Ever since that encounter, Knight never bothered me anymore. He doesn't talk to me or I don't know if he's even looking at me.

Probably, he's still upset about what happened. Maybe I'll just give it to him when he's cool already.

Knight's POV

"C'mon Knight, let's go! It's weekend! We should hangout."

"Go by your own Fred! I don't want to."

"Don't lock yourself here just because you were rejected, you gotta move on dude!"

The hell?! Me? Rejected?

"Shut up Fred! I told you, I'm not rejected. I'm not asking her out for a date."

"Yeah! But it was just the same, date or friendship it is, you're still rejected. "

Argh! This man is giving me a headache.

"You really fell to the gamma girl, huh?"

"Fred, I don't like her okay? I just found her interesting. Nothing more, nothing less. "

"Do you mean that? "

Yes. I do mean it. And why would I like someone who I know I will not end up with?

I wanted to say it to Fred but I just chose to nod.

"Okay, let's go! Let's hang out! I know you won't leave me alone."

"That's my Knight! Let's go!"

Fred brought me here to the club. Probably, he wants to drink again.

"Hey dude! Don't drink too much again okay? Your mom is really gonna kill me. "

"Well, it was really your fault. You're the one who brought me here. "

My mom's most hated habit of mine is drinking. Because when I'm drunk, I'm really drunk. I'm a sobber.

"Dude! Isn't that the gamma girl you're hitting on?"

I immediately look where he is pointing to. He's right, it was her. What is she doing here?

"I really can't blame you if you fell from her. Looks, she's so pretty in her dress."

Shayana's POV

I thought we would just be bonding to her apartment. But after we ate, Kyla dressed me and brought me to a club.

I don't really go to bars or clubs outside. My parents wouldn't allow me, and even Calix.

But, I do really like to experience partying at a club.

"Don't worry Shayana! It will be fun."

Kyla poured me a drink of alcohol. It's not my first time drinking, but I'm not familiar with their liquor, so I don't know if I'm gonna like it.

"Kyla, why did you have to change my clothes? This is too revealing. I'm not comfortable with it."

" Shayana. Who would go to a bar with a long sleeve top and pants?"

But at least she let me wear shorts or something. This dress was too fitted and revealing.

"And look, many men are looking at you."

I look around. Many eyes are on us. Not only for me, of course I'm with Kyla. So we're extra special today.

If my dress is way too revealing, Kyla's dress is much more.

She's so full of confidence, but it suits her. She lost the aura of being a princess and she turned out to be a bad chick.

I look around. I must say, partying in clubs is fun. Looking at people dancing at each other. Drinking alcohol and smoking. You really are free. Seeing them makes me think we are not that different from humans.

We can do what human can do, but they can't do what we can.

"Hey lady, wanna dance with me?" Some stranger approached me and invited me for a dance.

"No. I'm with someon—."

Kyla is gone. I stood up and looked around only to see her jumping and dancing at the dance floor.

Since when is she there? I didn't notice that she's not with me anymore.

"See, your friend is having fun, so why not you also?"

Should I? Well, it's just once in my life to have this moment.

I was about to accept his hand when someone suddenly took my hand.

I immediately looked at who he was.

Knight.

"I hold her first." He said bluntly to the guy. The guy must know him seeing the disappointed reaction of him.

The guy left.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm the one supposed to ask that. Why are you here?"

"I'm with my friend okay? She invited me over here."

"You're with your friend? Kyla? " I nodded. I saw him wipe his face holding back his annoyance.

" You should go home. "

" I can't go home without Kyla. I can't leave her here. "

" Look, she's with my friend. She's safe with him. "

I look at Kyla. She's with someone, and from what I remember, he's the one with Knight every lunch.

" How can I trust him if he's friends with you? "

" Look, she's m—--." Knight seems to be frustrated.

" She's safe there. "

" No! I won't leave her here. "

I sit again at our table. I can't leave Kyla here. Clubs must be really fun but it is also dangerous for women like her.

Knight sat too beside me.

There's a silence gap between us. A deafening silence even if we are filled with loud music.

"Are you mad at me?" I don't know why I suddenly ask that. It just came to my mouth without me thinking of it.

"Why would I be mad? Who am I to stop you going to the club?"

" I'm not talking about the club. About what happened last time at the cafeteria."

He looked at me.

Gosh.

Am I just a little tipsy or I just saw the great face he has the moment he turns around? His eyes are a little squinted now which makes him look hot.

"I will not force you if you really don't want to be friends with me. It's your choice anyway. "

I leaned back in my seat and crossed my legs and arms. I'm getting sleepy.

"Some of your oh-so-admirers already threatened me. They don't want me to associate with you. It's not that I'm scared of them. Pffft, I can even smack them down by myself. It's just that I want a peaceful life here. I don't want to cause any trouble."

I want to go home right away. I miss my family.

" If you just gonna trust me, I'll make sure you live a peaceful life here. "

I looked at him. I stare at his whole face. I don't know why, but his eyes are calling mine. Now I'm looking at his eyes and he does the same too. We're doing eye to eye. Funny how this moment is not awkward for me.

Maybe because I'm too drunk to deal with my awkwardness.

"I don't know what you see in me for you to push yourself befriending with me."

I took my eyes off him. I close my eyes. I really want to sleep now.

I felt some cloth covering my thigh. But I couldn't see it anymore, I can't open my eyes anymore.

Before I drove myself to sleep, I heard someone talk to me.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of you."

I think I'm hearing Calix.

Knight's POV

I closed the door and faced Fred. He's waiting for me outside.

"How did you know her passcode?"

"I don't know either."

"Anyway, I gotta go now. I'm tired."

Before Fred could go, I called him.

"I'll go with you."

"Where are you going? Aren't you tired?"

"There's someone I must deal with."

I just patted his shoulder and headed first.
