Chapter twenty-one

Steve Baldwin walked tiredly home. The sun was beaming hotly on him and he sweated profusely. He was coming back from his father's grocery store. It had been a torrid 24hrs already. From seeing the corpse of Amanda Fortune, to spending hours in police station for unending questioning and interrogation. As expected, for being the one to discover the body, he was the first suspect. After long hours, his father and a lawyer arrived. Even though he was just a minor and wasn't supposed to be interrogated without the presence of his parents, they went ahead, bombarding him with brain draining questions, accusing him of what he didn't do. They didn't listen to his story even after he repeated it several times. Questions like,

"why weren't you in school?"

"-What were you doing at an abandoned swampy area at early morning?"

"-Are you sure you were just fishing?"

"-Did you see anyone else?"

" How did you locate the body in the large swamp? So you me
