CH 08. CHILDHOOD CRUSH.

Delilah climbed each of the stairs with care so she wouldn't slip and fall. She got to Zach's room and knocked, when there wasn't any reply she opened the door and entered. The sound of rushing water could be heard from the bathroom which meant that he was taking his bath. She placed the tray containing his morning meal on one of the side tables and took her time looking at the room.

Zach's bedroom wasn't just any bedroom, it had a mini sitting room, mini library, and kitchen. His closet was quite wide and just from standing in the room, one could view the beautiful lawn that added beauty to the Young Mansion. The room had several portraits of art and decorations. There were only a few pictures of his family and friends. Even though he was a male, he was the type who strongly believed that both genders should have the mindset to be clean and to keep their surroundings neat.

While Delilah was still admiring the room, Zach came out of the bathroom and this got her attention. She turned to look at him and her eyes widened a bit. Zach was only in his towel that was wrapped around his waist firmly. His upper body was exposed. Delilah stared at his body shamelessly, his perfect muscles were enticing, the way his biceps flexed when wiping his wet hair and the way the water was dripping out of it made him look charming and gorgeous. It had been a while since Delilah had seen him this way and she could tell that he had been working out non-stop.

Zach was not aware of the intruder in his room as he had his back turned against her. Delilah cleared her throat to make her presence known and he turned around quickly to see who it was. Delilah stared at his abs before looking at his face.

" I...I brought your breakfast. " She said.

" Thank you very much. Let me put on something. " Zach replied and opened his closet. Delilah giggled at the numerous thoughts she was having in her brain as she made herself comfortable on one of the chairs. Zach came out a few minutes later dressed in a casual plain white shirt and black shorts. He settled down for his breakfast.

" How is your work going? " He asked her as he bit into the bread that was stuffed with eggs.

'' Great. The contracts have been much but I can't deny them now, can I? " Delilah chuckled.

" No, you can't. How are your parents doing? " Zach asked.

" They are fine, thank you. " Delilah answered and Zach nodded. She poured some more tea into his cup and he drank it.

During his eating, Zach flashbacks to the woman he had helped last night. Her face and every reaction of hers was imprinted into his memory but he didn't know where she was. He decided to ask for Delilah's help with his question.

   " Delilah. "

   " Hmm? "

" Do you think it is fair if we leave a sick person who desperately needs help alone even when they insist to be secluded? " Zach asked. Delilah stared at him for a while before responding.

" That would be wrong to do, Zach. We are to help such a person no matter what because if we refuse to, there is a probability that we will lose them in whatever way it is. That's my answer. "

   " Thanks. "

" Why did you ask that? Is something going on? "

" No, the thought just crossed my mind. "

" All right then. '' She waited for a while till he was done eating.

" I will take your plates downstairs. "

" You don't need to, Delilah. Why are you even doing this? " Zach was surprised at this new behavior of hers. She never cared about doing domestic work. Delilah chuckled awkwardly.

" I just feel so happy today. Excuse me. " She carried the tray and left his room. Zach only smiled at his childhood friend's behavior. He later put on a serious face as he opened the flap of his laptop to start working.

Delilah felt so happy because she was with the man she had grown up to love so much. Zach was her childhood crush and her being the only woman who had gotten this close to him and the Young family have her an ego. Now that Madam Young had planted the seed of her marrying into this family, all she was to do was to water the seed quite well and make sure that it became a tree with thick and unmovable roots. Her first step was going to be planned very well but before this, she needed to inform her mother.
