Chapter 3. Chance meeting

Although she was exhausted and in great pain, she bit her lip trying to make a sound.

Her efforts finally succeeded in getting the other man's attention to her. He turned to look at her with cold red eyes. Before she could rejoice, she was scared when she looked him in the eyes.

His eyes were bright red like blood. Not only that, he is as emotionless as a wild animal. Could he be the beast of legend?

Apart from his fierce eyes, his face was too perfect. This was the first time she had seen such a handsome man. So beautiful that a little girl like her had to stare blankly.  The mysterious beauty combined with the cold red eyes is even more attractive.

She knew now was not the time to look at that man. She was going to die anyway, so she immediately showed him her pitiful and weak form, hoping that he could have mercy on her and save her.

He stood looking at her for a long time, it seemed that she had no hope of surviving. But fortunately, a minute later he slowly walked over to pick her up and took her away. Lying in his arms she felt more secure than ever, so she was saved. She thought so because she was so tired that she fainted.

As she lay down the whole thing, she could finally conclude with certainty that the owner of this place was the same man who had saved her yesterday.

She giggled at her perfect reasoning.  Suddenly she remembered her parents at home, they must have been looking for her all night.

She moved out of bed to look for a nanny to help send a letter to her parents for peace of mind.

But as soon as she moved, she had to frown in pain, cold sweat poured out one after another, perhaps because she was too hasty to touch the wound.

The nanny brought the porridge in and saw that her face was contorted with pain, she quickly put the porridge on the table and went to help her lie down, she advised: "Don't move too hard, the wound is easy to crack. If you want to. Wherever you go, just tell her, she'll take you."

She stammered: "Grandma. Can you help me with one thing?"

"What do you want me to do for you?"

"I've been missing for a night. I'm afraid my parents will be worried at home. Now I am writing to my parents, can you ask someone to help deliver the letter to my house?"

"Ok. Grandma will help you deliver the letter to your parents. But first, you have to eat porridge, eat a lot to get well soon."

"I'm bothering you too much."

The nanny brought a bowl of porridge in front of her and said, "I don't mind. You can eat porridge."

Finish writing a letter to her parents for peace of mind. The nanny went out for a long time, she was bored but she couldn't go by herself.

Lily walked down the hallway, and passed a room with an open door, she glanced inside and saw a pretty girl wrapped in bandages sitting leaning against the head of the bed. She stood wondering, the other girl also looked at her.

She went straight inside and asked: "Who are you? Why are you in this room?"

Lily's two consecutive questions confused Amy. Seeing that Amy didn't answer, Lily approached the bed and asked: "Why don't you answer me? Who are you? Who let you in?"

Amy timidly replied: "My name is Amy. I was injured and helped by the owner of this place."

Lily thought she didn't hear well, and impatiently asked: "The owner of this place?"

"That's right."

Lily asked again to confirm: "Who is it?"

"I heard his name is Jake."

Lily didn't believe it: "Impossible."

"Why not?"

Lily was silent and did not answer. She didn't believe Jake had saved this girl. Because she had witnessed Jake's brutality since childhood. For revenge, he killed people without blinking, so how could this girl be saved?

Waiting for a long time, did not hear Lily answer but just stood thoughtfully, Amy asked quietly: "Are you okay?"

Lily continued to not answer, directly walking out of the room. Amy mumbled confusedly: "She's weird."

Sleepiness came again, anyway, being alone was boring, she gently lay down and continued to fall asleep.

Meanwhile, Lily was just walking out into the hallway when she ran into the nanny.  She pointed to the trembling room and asked: "Is it Jake who saved the girl in the room?"

The nanny was a little surprised by this question, but still answered seriously: "Yes."

Lily's eyes widened: "Absolutely not. I'll go ask him."

"He went out this morning. Don't follow him around all day."

Lily shook her head: "He saved that girl, and brought her back here. I feel this is very strange, with his personality, he certainly would never do such a thing."

"Don't think too much."

"My gut feeling tells me that that girl is a threat to me."

"Don't fall in love like that anymore."

Lily stubbornly shouted: "What's wrong with me fighting for love? Why do you keep stopping me again and again?"

The nanny was startled by Lily's stubbornness, she sighed and said: "But love must start from two sides."

"I don't need to know. I just know that I love only Mr. Jake in this life."

In the evening, when she heard that Jake had returned, the nanny took her to Mr. Jake to thank him. Before taking her away, the nanny informed Mr. Jake in advance.  When she got there, Amy saw a tall figure standing with his back to her. He was standing looking out at the world, his lonely back made her sympathize with him.

The nanny said first: "I brought her over."

Amy heard an emotionless voice say: "Get out."

After the nanny went out, she introduced herself slowly and cautiously: "Hi! Nice to meet you. My name is Amy. Thank you for saving me."

His back slowly turned around, the sunlight shining back into the window added to his cold and regal handsomeness. She recognized him immediately, he was the man from last night. His eyes had returned to their normal human color, she could no longer see the blood-red eyes.

While she was staring blankly at him, he answered in a low voice: "My name is Jake."
