Chapter 4. A little smile crossed his lips

Hearing him say that, she suddenly averted her gaze from staring at him. She shyly waved her hand to start a conversation: "Can your eyes change color?"

"Why do you know?"

She did not hide it: "Actually last night I saw your eyes were red."

Last night he thought she was unconscious, and probably wouldn't remember anything. But he guessed wrong, she did not lose consciousness but still remembered everything clearly.

Because he is a werewolf, when he walks out in the dark, his eyes will turn red. It seems that she has doubts about his identity. She already knew anyway, he shrugged: "Just as you thought."

"Huh? What do you mean like that?"

He repeated: "I said as you thought."

"What does that mean? I don't get it."

"Are you stupid?"

"Nope."

Hearing her answer, the corner of his mouth curved into a smile he didn't know.

She looked at it with passion, his face that was cold and emotionless was already beautiful, and now his smile is even more attractive. She involuntarily laughed along, praising: "You have a beautiful smile."

He immediately stopped laughing, and shifted his gaze to another topic: "How are you?"

"I'm fine. Thank you very much."

"That's fine. All right. Go back to your room and rest."

After saying that, he turned his back to her again, his eyes looking out the window.

Curious, she thought, what's so interesting outside that he likes to look like that?

He wanted to chase her. She still wondered about the color of his eyes.  But seeing that he seemed impatient, he must have been very tired. So she didn't bother him anymore, she was escorted by the nanny back to her room.

After confirming that she was gone, he unconsciously reached out and rubbed the corner of his mouth. Was he smiling then? He didn't realize he was smiling, because he hadn't laughed for a long time. All the emotions on his face were closed by him, but then he smiled. It must have been a very ugly stiff smile.

She has been at the palace for a while. This time her health was much better. All-day she just stayed in her room or walked around in the yard looking at the mountain scenery. The nanny was afraid that she would be sad, so she gave her some books to read to kill time.

Everyone here is busy, since that meeting, she and Jake have not seen each other again. Because Jake disappears most of the time, he's very mysterious, it's hard to find him.

Occasionally she would run into Lily outside as well. She heard that Lily is the nanny's niece. So every time she met Lily, she would greet her warmly.

But she realized that maybe Lily didn't like her. The reason she thought so was that Lily often pretended not to see her.

She knew that, when her wound was completely healed, she would have to return home. Having lived here for a long time, she gradually developed an attachment to this place. In particular, she is very fond of Jake, although the two rarely see each other.

This is the first time she has a feeling of liking someone, her teenage years are easily attracted to guys who are nice to her, and she is no exception.

Love is not to the point of love, simply like. Want to approach, talk to, and get to know that person. She had never felt such vibrations before. That day when I met Jake, he stood by the backlit window, she felt like he was like the sun shining into her heart.

Early in the morning, she overheard the nanny and Lily talking to each other. She learns that tomorrow is Jake's birthday. She also wanted to make a gift for him, but the time was too short, she didn't know what Jake liked, nor could she ask the nanny directly.

Because of that, today, like every other day, she brought books out to the yard to read. But today the time she reads will be longer. Since she intends to wait for Jake to return, talk to him to learn more about his interests.

While reading, she suddenly heard Lily's unfriendly words: "Are you so happy here? It's okay, why don't you go home?"

She honestly replied: "I don't know the way down the mountain."

"That's just an excuse, I see you want to stay here forever."

she was so used to that voice, so she just calmly shook her head: "I don't think I'll be here forever."

Before Lily left, she left a note: "Ok. I'll have my grandmother send someone to escort you home."

She followed Lily's figure with a sigh, she didn't know why Lily was so upset with her.

When she was thinking about it, Jake had already come home. He did not immediately enter the house but went outside to look at her. Last time, although he left early and returned late, all her activities were reported by the nanny.

Amy's wound was healed, and he was ready to take her home. But she stayed here for a long time, he was a little reluctant. Around this time he knew Amy was waiting for him to return.

That reminded him of his sister, his sister was the same before, wherever he went, she waited for him to return. How happy he was to have a family, but in one night he lost everything.

Recalling his unhappy past, he frowned and walked straight into the palace. Amy saw that he had returned, hurriedly got up, and followed him to say hello: "Why are you leaving so early today? Are you free? I have something to tell you."

"I'm not free."

She begged, "Can you give me some time?"

Jake was walking to a sudden stop, she couldn't stop behind her, and as a result, her forehead hit his back hard. She winced in pain, he walked slowly again and said: "I have never seen anyone as stupid as you."

She froze and ran after him again: "Please talk to me. I've been waiting for you for a long time."
