Chapter 4

I feel my mate's hand move and look up to her brown eyes staring into my blue ones.

Rose's POV

I woke to what felt like electric sparks shooting up my arm. I tried to move my hand but couldn't because something was holding it down. When I looked over at my hand, I noticed a large hand holding it. When I looked up, I saw the most beautiful blue eyes looking back at me with a smile on his face.

"How are you feeling, Rose?" the man asked, his voice husky. I couldn't help but shiver when he said my name so smoothly as if my name was made for him to say.

"I'm fine," I said.

I was doing quite well. For some reason, I felt safe and at ease with him. He had a wonderful scent like pine and rain. It was so relaxing, and I loved the sensation of sparks.

Then I remembered walking in on him with those two females, and I felt a pain in my chest and let go of his hand. The pain was not as severe as it had been previously, but it was still there. I couldn't figure out why I was feeling this way.

His grin had turned into a frown. He didn't appear angry but rather sad. Like he was hurt or something.

"Are you alright, baby?" My mother asked

I nodded and told her I was on my way to the bathroom when I passed out and that it had to be from the long drive and exhaustion.

For some reason, I didn't want to tell them the truth about what happened.

I realized I wasn't in my room.

"Who's room is this?" I asked.

"It's mine," the blue-eyed man said.

"I'm Derek,  Lisa and Michael's son." He stated. He extended his hand to shake, and I did, feeling the sparks again.

I closed my eyes, savoring the sensation, but then I remembered what had happened earlier and let go of his hand.

"I feel better now, so I will return to my room," I said. Derek approached me as I stood up as if he was going to follow me. I looked at him, and his father put his hand on his shoulder.

They exchanged a strange look as if they were having a conversation in their heads. Derek sighed and sat back in his chair.

My mother followed me to my room.

"Are you all right?" She asked, her eyes filled with concern

"I'm fine, Mom. All I need is a shower, "I said.

I went to the bathroom, making sure to enter through the right door this time. I couldn't take my mind off what had just happened. Why was I so sad? I don't know Derek, so how can I feel he betrayed me? Why did my chest hurt so badly that I passed out while he fucked those girls?

Why am I still in pain as a result of the situation? Maybe because I've never witnessed anyone having sex before. I'm a virgin. I've never been in a situation like that, making me feel uneasy. I tried to tell myself, but I knew much more to it.

I washed, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair. Then, I changed my clothes and exited the bathroom. I returned everything to my room before going outside to look for James. My mother told me that he was hanging out with some boys.

As I walked outside, I noticed the two girls that had been with Derek earlier. They had a smirk on their face as they looked at me.

"Cindy, that girl came in on us earlier with Derek. You know, the dramatic one who suddenly passed out? "She said, annoyed.

"Yeah, I remember she messed up are fun. I didn't even get a chance to feel his big cock inside me. It's fine. I'll see him tonight. He never says no to a good pussy." Cindy said, with a smirk on her face,

A crowd gathered around us and began to surround us. Now, I'm not one to get into a fight over a man, especially one I don't even know, but something inside me wanted to beat the shit out of them.

Instead, I kept my cool.

"If I were you, I wouldn't waste my time trying to get Derek because he's about to become Alpha, and you're not worthy of him." You are nothing more than a worthless human." The other girl said as they both walked away.

For a brief moment, I wondered what she meant by a worthless human.

I had to look for James for another ten minutes. He was seated with a group of teenagers.

"Hello, beautiful! I haven't seen you around here. Do you have a boyfriend?" One of the guys asked. He appeared to be around 6 feet tall and my age. His muscular build told me he worked out.

"That's my sister," James said

"Sister, huh? I wouldn't mind" Someone else spoke from behind me before he could finish his sentence.

"If I were you, Nathan, I wouldn't finish that sentence!" When I turned around, Derek stared deep into Nathan's eyes with black eyes.

"Wait a minute, weren't his eyes blue?" I wondered. They both stood silently. They appeared to be communicating in private.

"I didn't know. I'm sorry," Nathan apologized before running away, leaving me and, my brother puzzled.

When I looked back at Derek, his eyes turned blue again.

"That can't be right; people's eyes don't just change colors like that," I thought.

He gave me a genuine smile and told my brother and me that we were going out to eat with him and his mother and father. I smiled at him and made my way to the front of the house, where my mother, Jason, Lisa, and Michael were waiting.

"Are you two ready?" my mother asked, and we both nodded.

"Would you mind riding with me, Rose?" Derek asked, and I looked at my mother, who nodded that it was fine.

I said yes and walked over to the passenger side of his black BMW. He rushed to open the door before I could. I smiled at him and thanked him.

The car was very nice, far better than anything my family had owned. It smelled like pine and rain, just like him, making me feel safe and at ease. He started the car once he was in the passenger seat. I fastened my seat belt, as did he. He smiled at me and said,

"I think you and I should talk about what happened earlier today," He said

My only thought was that I should have ridden with my mother.
