Chapter 2

I went over to the door and opened it. Just like I expected, Edin was the one who knocked. "Wow, you dressed up real fine today." I gave him a once over, my eyes lingering on his packed chest.

"You're more so gorgeous than I am." He winked, "you're really beautiful."

"Thanks." I look down in embarrassment. My cheeks pinking automatically.

"please make yourself at home, let me quickly dress up" I said.

"But aren't you dressed up already" He said smiling at me.

"No, I only had my make-up on and I also don't like this gown" I said while trying to make my way upstairs to my room.

"Okay but be fast, we are running late" he said sitting down on the couch.

Upstairs in my room, looking at my wardrobe, throwing most of my dresses on the floor.

"Gosh, why are there much clothes here, I can't even make a choice" I said to myself.

"Best, is there a problem there, you know we can't be late for my date", he cried out to me, as it was the only date I agreed to follow him.

"Be patient, you know I'm not meant to accompany you there, I wonder how the girl will feel", I said from the room while laughing.

"I already told her about you and she agreed to it, so I don't know why you are bringing this up now" he said.

"Why don't you come up and help me pick out a dress, if you don't want to be late for your so-called date" I snapped at him while being green with envy.

"Okay I'm coming", he said while making his way upstairs.

He's already in the room.

"Upon all the clothes in here and also in the closet, you still can't pick one and wear". he said trying to select one.

"What does having clothes do with helping me to select"? I said trying not to look at him so he won't notice that I wasn't happy.

"Okay, this one will be perfect, try it on, I will be waiting downstairs", he said dropping the golden dinner gown on the bed. 

"Thank you, let me quickly put it on", I said while leading him to the door, so he can leave.

"I'm already going, is not like I haven't seen what you are hiding before", he said laughing.

"You might have seen but you haven't seen mine", I said with an eye roll.

Speechless, he left the room.

I faced the bed, looking at the gown, I picked it up and wore it, then turned to the mirror.

"He made a perfect choice but why can't he notice my love for him", I cried out still looking at the mirror.

I came downstairs and met him staring at the television and I decided to make noise with my heels so he can notice me.

The clinking sound of my heels made him turn around and looked at me.

"You look okay", he said looking calm.

"Is that all you will say?, like seriously, it's well, I said feeling like strangling him for making such a lewd comment.

"What else were you expecting and by the way that's a compliment", he said trying not to laugh.

"Whatever, it isn't the first time I'm receiving this from you", I said feeling annoyed.

"Okay, you look gorgeous", he said walking towards the door.

As soon as I heard that, I had butterflies in my stomach.

"He actually knows how to make one feel better", I thought in my mind while following him up to the car.

At the restaurant, there sat a pretty lady but not as pretty as I am.

"Hey babe, sorry for being late, your gender caused it", he said pointing at me and laughing.

"That's not a problem, I actually got here just now", she said smiling.

 "Hi, I'm Kira, his best friend and you are"?, I said extending my hands for a handshake.

"Hi, I'm Eva, his date and girlfriend to be", she said smiling sheepishly.

"Girlfriend to be indeed", I thought as I left her hands.

"Nice meeting you", I said while giving her a once-over.

"Pleasure is mine", she said as she was also glaring at me from head to toe.

I then sat down beside Edin and the girl sat on the other side.

"Waiteress", I heard Edin call out.

"What the hell am I doing here, I should have stayed at home", I thought as I was already feeling uncomfortable because the girl was trying to make advances at him.

"Your orders please", said a beautiful waitress as she stood in front of our table.

"I will have just water please", I said looking down at my phone.

Edin noticed that I wasn't being myself, he decided to engage me in a conversation.

"Kira, I remembered when we came here, you were so happy that you almost ate all the food they brought forth", he said laughing and praying that I will reply.

"I remember, we were sitting at that end, chatting while viewing the environment", I responded positively laughing.

"Why don't you guys talk about something that involves me so I won't be left out", Eva said as she ruined the atmosphere and being happy that she did that.

I stood up and went straight towards the restroom without looking at any of them.

"It's better I left there, if not that girl wouldn't have loved what will happen to her", I said feeling furious. 

At the table, Eva was eating as Edin was busy looking towards the restroom door, checking when I will come out.

"Thank God, she left, only God knows how uncomfortable she makes me feel", Eva thought as she was picking at her food.

"Why isn't she coming out", as Edin was also in his world of thinking.

At the restroom, two girls were in the toilet discussing.

"Did you see that guy dressed in grey suit, gosh, he's so handsome and charming, together with the woman he came with", the first girl said.

"Which of the women because I saw two ladies beside him", the second girl said.

"I mean the one that wore a golden gown, like she's so pretty, perfect match from heaven", the first girl said while wishing she was as beautiful as that.

"Exactly, I don't know why the other lady is forcing herself on the guy, is not as if she that beautiful, is mostly all these ugly girls that forces their selves on guys", the second girl said in anger.

"That's her business, is not like the guy will marry her, it's only a fool that will leave such a pretty lady like that for an ugly slut", the first girl said as they laugh together.

All these statements actually made me laugh and at the same time happy that at least people can see that we were meant to be together and I was also sad because Edin couldn't see us like that.
