Chapter 3

"What am I still going here, it is better I go home than staying in here", I said as I walked out of the restroom in anger.

As I opened the door, I saw Edin staring at me, and that made me to go straight to where they were seated instead of going out of the restaurant.

"You wasted time in the restroom, is anything the matter"?, he asked looking at me to check if I'm okay.

"I'm fine, I really need to go home because it's already late", I said not minding how he will feel because I know he won't let me go on my own.

"Oh!, cut off the bullshit, it is not the right way to tell me that you don't like me, tell me to my face and don't go corners", Eva said feeling much angrier than I.

"You even know that, Jeez and I was thinking of a way to let you know, it kinda good that you figured it out yourself, so please let's end this here because I can't approve of you becoming my best friend's girlfriend", I said while having a smirk on.

"Edin, don't tell me that's why you brought her here, so she can decide for you, oh shit, you aren't even meant to be called a guy", she said as she hissed and was about to walk out when a tight slap came on her cheek.

"I might be looking calm or cool but I don't take insult or any rubbish from whosoever not to talk of an ugly slut", he said without any form of remorse and held my hand as we walked out of the restaurant, leaving the girl speechless.

I couldn't talk on our way home as I knew I was at fault, so I had to pick up my phone and started playing games.

"Good night", I said as I opened the door of the car to alight from it.

Without any reply, he drove off which made me to feel sad.

"I'm not actually at fault, I just saved him from a slut who could have ruined his life, so why is he acting that way", I spoke aloud to myself as I entered my room.

The next morning, I was awake still thinking of what happened last night and trying to find out how the whole matter became my fault because I can remember vividly when I refused to follow him to the so-called date but he bluntly refused and now I'm at fault.

"Wow, it's well ", I said as I stood up to have my bath.

"The door bell rang, and who could that be early this morning", I thought as I hesitantly went towards the door.

"Good morning ma", I said while opening the door for my mum.

"Hold that greetings of yours, so is now you heard the bell, I knew it always waking up late, what else are you good at", my mum said looking around the house, this house can never be dirty, she thought in her mind.

I smiled because I knew what exactly she was thinking.

"Actually I'm good at cleanliness and also at cooking which are the basis of a woman, what more can I be", I asked expecting her to continue with her nagging.

"Aren't you going to work", she said trying to change the topic.

"Don't even try changing the topic because you must answer me today mum", I said trying to catch up with her as she went upstairs to check my room.

"Mummy out!!, I want to wash up and get ready for work", I said leading her to the door.

"Is now you remembered to wash up because I'm here", she said.

"Truth be told, I was about to wash up before I heard the door bell, so give me some privacy", I said shutting the door after she left and I felt safe once again.

"Your best friend actually asked me to come see you", I heard her say after she left the room.

"Why would he do such a thing, is he okay?, whatever", I spoke aloud still trying to figure out the reason of him acting that way.

Actually Edin and I work at the same company, as the company was his family's own, so as the heir's best friend, I was assigned to work at the company inorder to look out for him and be with him from time to time.

"Well, let me quickly wash up and get to the office, since I will meet him there", I said feeling the cold water run down on me from the shower.

In an hour, I was done bathing and I pick out a cooperate black office dress to put on.

"This will do", I said having the feeling of a fashionista.

I dried my body and had my underwears on, then the dress and had my hair tied in a ponytail style, I wore a light make-up which help in brighten up my face with a red lipstick and had a red bag and a red shoe to match.

"Perfect look", I said turning around in front of the mirror to get full view of myself.

Feeling satisfied, I left my room and heeded towards the sitting room, looking around, I noticed that breakfast was set on the dinning table.

"Get seated and have breakfast before you leave for work", my sweet mum said while pouring hot water into my favorite cup.

"You're the best mum", I said rushing towards the table and pulled out a chair to sit down.

"I prepared noodles and eggs because you didn't even allow me to finish talking before you asked me out of your room", she said placing the fried eggs on my plates.

"That's not a problem mum, I will eat it as far as you're the one who cooked it", I said smiling at the food which aroma was mind-blowing.

"Okay just eat up so you won't be late for work", she said leaving me all to myself.

When done eating, I cleared the dinning and washed the dishes, then carried my bag to the car and drove off to the office.

"She didn't even let me know that she was leaving, this daughter of mine", she spoke to herself feeling dejected.

At the office, I went straight to Edin's office so that I can clear the air and also asked him if why he asked my mum to come see me.

"Hello, Good morning, is Edin on seat", I said the confused secretary.

"Morning, Yes he is but he wouldn't like to see any visitor now", she said not liking the fact that I was disturbing her.

"Excuse you, but I'm not a visitor, Well continue with we what you're doing, I will just help myself".
