Chapter 4

"But ma'am I don't think you should go in", she spoke harshly.

"Why, infact just continue with what you are doing", I said making my way into the office.

"Why won't she just stop bothering him", she thought within her.

As I entered the office, Edin was busy going through some documents which were on the table.

"Good morning", I said taking a seat in front of him while contemplating whether he will talk or snub me.

"Good morning", he said without even raising an eyelid.

"Well about yesterday, I'm so sorry, even though I don't know why I'm apologizing", I said without any remorse.

"Let's just forget about it, please I'm busy right now, let's discuss later", he said still not looking up.

"Won't you at least look at me before I go", I said feeling sad.

"That will buy some of my time, please later", He said but this time serious.

I couldn't persuade him again, so I had to leave the office and went straight to my office but I couldn't concentrate.

"Is it a crime falling in love with him, why is he making this unbearable for me and I can't even tell him the way I feel, Oh God, I need your help before I run mad", I cried out to myself.

In the next 30 minutes, Edin's Dad, The General manager Fred came into my office.

"Hello beautiful", he said smiling.

"Good morning, I said returning the smile.

 "How was your night, hope it was splendid", he said smiling sheepishly.

"It was the worst of all nights", I said remembering the incident that occurred.

"Sorry dear for that, actually I want you to help I and my wife out with something, I don't know if you will be free", he said looking at me, waiting for my response.

"Something like what, Sir", I said thinking what that could be.

"Agree first that you will help and I will let you know", he said still looking at me.

"Okay, I will help but that's if my free by then", I said expecting him to tell me what it's all about.

"Okay till then, see you later", he said and left while keeping me in suspense.

As I was still thinking, my phone rang and it was Erica that called after so many years since we graduated from high school.

"Hey babe", Erica my best friend's voice was heard on the other end of the phone.

"Crazy bitch, so this is how you have decided to forget me, it isn't fair", I said feeling a little bit weak.

" Ahhh babe, you know I can't forget you, I have been working and also you know I lost my other phone and your number was lost, I accidentally ran into Edin yesterday and that's how I got your number, please I'm sorry for not being in touch", she spoke remorseful.

"You meant Edin yesterday!!, Where?, that means you are in town", I said excitedly.

"Yes I'm in town, I'm actually here for a business deal, I will see you when I'm done with everything", she said happily.

"Okay, I can't wait to meet you, see you soon", I said as I remember I had work to do.

"Okay bye", she said as she ended the call.

I decided to take the day off because I wasn't concentrating and it's better for me to rest and get some sleep.

I signed off and went to the parking lot and drove off. Meanwhile Edin was done with his work and decided to chat with me but to his surprise, his secretary told him that I had taken the day off which was something I have never done before.

"What could be the problem, is she sick or is it because of the way I reacted to her?", these were the questions going through his head so he decided to call me.

"Hey, why did you leave so early, is anything the problem or are you sick?", he said on the phone.

"Which one should I answer first, Well I'm okay, just that I didn't get enough sleep last night, so I decided to take the day off, sorry for not letting you and also you wouldn't talk to me", I said waiting to hear him blame me for yesterday's night.

"I was angry at you, I was angry because of the documents my dad left for me to work on that's the reason", he said feeling bad that he would have just told me earlier.

"I didn't know and I was busy blaming myself all day, gosh", I said laughing at myself.

"So is the air cleared", he said laughing also.

"I think so but wait, You didn't tell me that you met Erica yesterday", I said not wanting to forget to ask.

"Oh about that, I forgot, I'm sorry", he said.

"No problem, well I think she will come over to see me very soon, I have missed that soul", I cried out.

"Okay so wait for her, I need to get to work now, bye and take care", he said trying to get back to work.

"Okay, I will, bye", I said ending the call.

On getting home, I realized my mum had gone but as usual, she prepared a very delicious delicacy, which was spaghetti surprise, my favorite.

"My mum is the best, can't trade her for anything", I said aloud.

"Let me call her first and find out where exactly she is", I said as I picked up my phone and dialed my mum's number.

"Hello my daughter", my mum said from the other end of the phone.

"My special person, my pride, my all in all, my favorite, my own mother, my love, thank you so much for the food", I said while laughing.

"Wait, all these praises because of food, I just pray that food doesn't kill you", she said laughing.

"Even if it should kill me, I will be happy than a man or woman killing me", I said still laughing.

"There is power in words, so be mindful of how you talk", she said seriously.

"Okay, I have heard, how is Dad and Sin doing?", I asked her.

"They are all fine but I'm not home yet, I'm at the grocery store", she said while pricing stuffs.

"Okay ma, let me leave you so you can concentrate before they cheat you", I said laughing real hard.

"Ahhh, you know they do that one often to you", she laughed as she spoke.

"Bye ma", I said not wanting to hear anything from her again because I know she will open my past, then I ended the call before she could say anything else.
