Chapter 5

"I feel so hungry", I thought to myself as I quickly went upstairs and freshened up.

Then I came downstairs and went straight to the dining table so I can enjoy the sweet delicacy cooked by my mother.

"Gosh, this woman is the best, what a food", I said out of happiness.

"I'm filled already, WOW what a meal", I said as I cleared the table and washed the dishes.

As I was about to take a nap, the door bell rang.

"Oh God, who is this now", I asked no one in particular.

"I'm coming", I said while going to get the door.

"Surprise", Erica's voice was heard.

"Bitch, you would have called and who gave you the address", I asked suspiciously.

"Well Edin sent me the address", she said and I felt a little bit jealous.

"Are they close, it can't be", I thought to myself.

"Okay that's good, welcome to my apartment", I said welcoming her in.

"What a cozy apartment you live in", she said looking around.

"Thanks so much, you know I'm always good at choosing the best", I said with a feeling of proudness.

"Of course I know, who doesn't know you back then in high school, the only pretty star", she said having an ill feeling towards me.

"You can say that again", I said and laughed.

"Are you still in love with Edin or has everything come to normal, and I never expected him to add more handsomeness, he really charming which can make any girl drool", she said as she demonstrated.

"It's still a secret, he doesn't see me that way and I can't confess to him because I know he will reject me, he has made it clear that it's only best friend's feelings, nothing more attached", I said looking down.

"But You haven't tried yet and you are concluding, what if he's also in love with you but can't express himself because he's also thinking the same way, common girl, just try", she said trying to comfort me.

"I can't, let it just be a secret", I said looking away.

"You know that this feelings have taken time and I know it's now deeply, should I tell him myself since you can't voice out", she said looking at me.

"No no, please don't do that, I don't want things to be awkward between us, I have my reasons please", I said not smiling.

"Okay, I will keep it, so continue dying silently", she spoke harshly.

"I'm the one dying silently not you, so bother about yourself", I said laughing.

"What will you like to take?", I asked her.

"Anything, I'm okay with it", she said classily.

"Okay, I'm coming just give me a minute", I said rushing towards the kitchen and opened the fridge and brought out cake and a cold wine and placed it on a tray.

" Here comes it", I said placing the tray on a stool in front of her.

"Thanks, it's so chilled", she said as she opened the wine and poured some into her glass cup and some in mine and had the cake cut with the knife.

"Cheers to our friendship and to our unending love for each other", she said raising her glass cup into the thin air.

"Cheers", I replied smiling and hitting my glass cup with hers.

"This cake is delicious, don't tell me you baked it", she asked in awe.

"Of course I was the one who baked it", I said smiling.

"It's so perfect now unlike before", she said remembering how I served her burnt cake when we were still young.

"Thanks", I said feeling proud of myself.

"I will be on my way now, my manager just called me to come over", she said dropping the glass cup in the tray and picking up a piece of cake and into her mouth it went.

"Okay babe, let me see you off", I said standing up.

"Thanks for the warm reception", she said smiling.

"Anything for you love", I said then she entered her car, starting the engine, she drove off.

"Back to home alone" I spoke aloud along the staircase.

I decided to sleep for an hour but to my greatest surprise, when I woke up I slept for 4hours in the daytime, and I hardly slept in the daytime.

"Looks like I have been stressing myself alot, especially with thinking, oh God please help me", I cried out.

Then I went to the bathroom and poured water on my face to clear off the dizziness, I went down to the sitting room and switched on the television, not because I want to watch it but because I was feeling bored.

"Why did I leave the office and it's taking the day ages to end", I cried out.

I got up from the chair and went straight to the gym house at the back of the house, then started trying all kinds of exercise. What boredom can do, I thought as I was misbehaving to say.

Finally the day decided to be night and I went to bed, I really didn't sleep on time because I was actually working on my laptop. Stress is really too harmful to the body but what can I do, I really have to earn money so I can live a luxurious life without any fool controlling or ordering me around.

The next morning, I woke up feeling happy but didn't know the reason.

"This day will surely favour me", I thought because of the feeling I got.

I quickly brushed my mouth, washed up and got dressed in a purple gown, black bag and shoe which was so unique.

"That's it", I said feeling myself while looking at the mirror.

I boiled water and had breakfast which was tea and bread with butter, which was my favorite breakfast, then I cleared the dinning table and washed the dishes which has become a routine for me, after that I picked up a car key as I always choose the car that suits my dressing as a Bosslady and finally I drove off to work.

In less than an hour, I was at the office parking lot.

As I stepped down off the car, I gave out a unique feeling which made people stare, glare and glanced at me without commenting as I always make people talk about my beauty and I.

I walked straight to my office as eyes were rolling all over me, seriously that feeling of a celebrity is one in town.

"Good morning", I said as I greeted those I came across.
