Chapter 3: “Level Up”

When Ares stepped outside, he immediately met three young men from a small town. Ares saw the men sitting while treating each of their wounds.

When they saw Ares' figure, the men immediately changed their attitude from introspection to attack mode.

Ares, who saw the attitude of the men, could immediately judge that they were strong people. And from their scars, Ares assumed that those men had just faced a goblin-type monster.

But it was only when they saw Ares' clear appearance that the men were relieved. Because Ares' appearance was like a vagrant, and his young stature did not make the men feel afraid of Ares. Even so, Ares could feel their aura was much stronger than his.

"Lad, what are you doing here? This area is dangerous for a novice like you," one of the young men reprimanded.

"Sorry, but I do live in this cave. No place is safe as long as the schism continues to rage," Ares replied matter-of-factly, but that thoughtful sentence left them mesmerised.

Ares was still only 17 years old, and in that world, one would be considered an adult if they reached 25 years old. Moreover, with Ares' abilities still at the level of 20 at his age, the men judged that Ares was not someone talented.

"Do you live alone around here?"

"My brother and I fled here a few years ago after the war broke out. Unfortunately, I lost him a few years ago." Ares was forced to lie to hide his true identity as a Prince.

The three youths looked at each other, and after that, one of them looked at Ares.

"I suggest you go from there. In the northern region, there is a city called Avalon. It would be much better than staying in this dangerous area."

After giving advice, the men immediately left Ares.

"It's a good thing we don't have to carry the burden in these conditions," said one of the youths after darting away. The man's friend seemed to agree with that.

Ares realised that they were looking down on him. For a soldier, noticing people's behaviour from the look in their eyes was natural. Ares could obviously read expressions much better.

After that, Ares returned to preparing for the hunt. Today, Ares would not hunt goblins anymore; he would hunt stronger prey because he needed more experience.

A few hours later, Ares found an area of wolf monsters that were each level 20. Ares was then determined to test his abilities by fighting these monsters.

"I have almost more than two hundred Mana energy. At least I can use some of it to create some powerful fireballs," Ares thought then he began to concentrate and created four fireballs using 40 mana.

Unbeknownst to the wolf monsters, four fireballs suddenly floated in the air, ready to scorch them. Ares hoped they would die so that he would level up rapidly.

BOOM!

Four explosions sounded as the fireballs hit their targets. As Ares had predicted, the wolf monsters died instantly without even having time to dodge.

"I have to hunt a lot if I want to get stronger," Ares said, then resumed his steps.

In a hunting trip of about two hours, Ares had eliminated hundreds of goblins that he accidentally encountered, making Ares' level just one step away from level 30.

Ares thought for a moment. "After levelling up, my condition recovered to its original state, and my man count is now over three hundred. Their level is not a problem because I have equipment and skills that support my strength, and after all, goblins are still goblins even if they are a little smarter."

Ares saw a group of goblin soldiers about to attack him simultaneously. Asher, who had predicted this, immediately faced the goblins' attack. It only took one step, and Ares managed to finish off the group of goblin soldiers who attacked him.

Ares eliminated about 20 goblin soldiers in just five minutes. Ares gained quite a lot of experience. The remaining five goblin warriors were stronger and smarter than the previous goblin warriors.

When Ares saw that the monsters were about to try to escape, Ares attacked them quickly.

Ares then rested and looked quite satisfied with his achievements of the past few days, but still, he was not satisfied with his strength. Ares muttered, "I'm still too weak. My strength is nothing compared to those men."

Asher recalled that a soldier's seo was at level 600 inside the palace castle, and an Emperor was above 5,000. When Ares was compared to himself, it was clear that Ares was just ashes in that realm.

"But this is not the time to look down on myself. I'd rather hunt and gather experience." Ares tried to motivate himself.

Seven days had passed, and all Ares had done was hunt and kill many monsters. Ares only rested for four hours and used twenty hours to continue hunting, so it was no surprise that he had raised his level considerably.

In just a week, Ares changed the sentence that stated he was not talented by reaching level 100. Ares truly showed that not only talented people could excel.

At the resting place, Ares felt the energy of several monsters. The man murmured, "There seem to be five monsters with levels over a hundred hiding at 2 o'clock."

Ares had decided to reach level 100 or above before he left the forest and headed for the town the young men had suggested. Therefore, Ares began hunting monsters non-stop.

Now Ares stepped into the hiding place of a pack of Lizardman. The beasts had holy blood, but they were still monsters.

BOOM!

Ares threw four fireballs using his 100 (Mana). The man managed to deal damage to the Lizardman, but it wasn't enough to kill them.

With Ares' greatly increased speed and strength, he quickly attacked the Lizardman with his sword. One of the Lizardmen who tried to escape was also not left unattended by Ares.

"The higher the level of the monster I kill, the more points I get," Ares thought proudly.

Ares immediately attacked the other four Lizardmen, shattering the monster's limbs into one.

"I finally reached level 100. There won't be anyone who can easily dismiss me as weak. I think it's time to leave this forest," Ares muttered,

Ares, who felt curious, immediately clicked on the information in the menu about his profile, and immediately the data appeared.

Ares smiled with satisfaction. The man thought to himself, "After leaving here, I'll buy some other supporting skills.

Ares had only reached his level 10, but his strength was equivalent to a human ten times above his position. At least Ares could withstand users who had at least level 190.

"It's my time to shine," Ares muttered proudly.
