The more time passed, the more steps she took, the more Ryder's irritation turned into pure rage, mostly directed at herself. Why didn't she run after him? Why didn't she stay closer to the door? He was so close God damn it. They were in the same place, during the day, and she couldn't steal even a glimpse at him.
