Chapter 23: Who?

Stelian didn't react much. The footsteps stopped, but he merely glanced at her briefly. Still, with the usual stoic-looking face, he continued to walk away, disappearing in his third step.

Irene narrowed her eyes, a vague outline of anger visible in her scrunched face. It was just a test, yet the answer she had gotten nonetheless annoyed her. Of course, Stelian should know who she was talking about as she had a guess that the person must have been slaughtered somewhere recently. Suppressing the fury in her heart, she hastened her footsteps.

The entire countenance was cold, and her body radiated oppressiveness as if she was enveloped in frost; whoever touched her was going to turn into a frozen statue. In this state her entire being was alert and in high sensitivity.
