Crashing on an Island

                                  ~Rania~

I awoke to the sound of a baby wailing and waves crashing. I felt something heavy in my hand and gripped it as if it were my life. When I opened my eyes, the sunlight blinded me. It took me about five minutes to realize I was sitting on My seat on the plane.

The seat was turned upside down and appeared to be keeping me from smashing my face into the ground. When blood ran down my face and landed on my hand, I realized I was holding Ria, who was wailing quite loudly. I groaned in agony and clutched Ria's hand tightly. I had no idea how she or I had survived because everything went black when the plane crashed. I took one of my hands off her body, unbuckled, and quickly rolled over so Ria wouldn't fall to the ground. I shielded myself with my hand, and I swear my bone cracked as I hit the ground. "Ouch! " I screamed in agony. Ria continued to sob, and I couldn't tell why because I couldn't see her face. "What should I do?" Ria's mother was supposed to be on my left side, but I couldn't see her.

After a few minutes of lying on the ground, I was able to get to my feet. The plane was tore and I could see the trees and sands, the breeze blew harshly on my face. When I felt a terrible pain in my leg, I stood up from the ground and yelled in pain. As Ria continued to cry, I patted her on the back. I was finally able to see her face, and thankfully, nothing had happened to her except for a long cut on her forehead that was bleeding. "Ria," I said, rubbing her back as I walked out of the plane to the Sand. When I noticed a few bodies outside the plane, I exclaimed. They were face down in the sand, eyes open and blood splattered on their faces.

Tears streamed down my cheeks as I continued to search for Ria's mother because she wouldn't stop crying. There were at least twenty bodies on the sand, but none of them belonged to Ria's mother. "What should I do?" I sobbed and clutched Ria's body. The plane had crashed into an island and split in half. I had no idea how I had survived without dying, but I knew I couldn't be the only survivor, so I walked back into the plane in search of Ria's mother and possibly other survivors.

When I returned, Ria had stopped crying and had started sucking on her thumb. I sighed briefly and started walking around, looking for survivors. I had to close my eyes because I couldn't bear seeing the passengers' bodies. There was blood everywhere, and the worst case that made me close my eyes was one of the hostesses who had been stabbed in the chest. My eyes glistened with tears, and I placed my free hand over my mouth, trying not to scream. I buried Ria's face in my shoulder to keep her safe from the bodies on the ground.

It was supposed to be a great flight where everyone would land safely and see their loved ones, but everything happened so quickly that everyone died. I couldn't believe I'd be a victim of a plane crash. As I remembered everyone's faces and the happy smiles on their faces as they boarded the plane, tears streamed down my cheeks.

After searching for Ria's mother, I discovered her laying on the ground among many bodies. Her face was bloodied, but I recognized her by the necklace around her neck. "no! " I screamed and knelt next to her body. "You... " I touched her face and grabbed Ria, not letting her see her mother's face. I was relieved she didn't turn her head or try to look her mother in the eyes. I had no idea how long I had been crying until I heard someone scream. I looked around, but no longer heard the voice.

Maybe it was just my imagination, I reasoned as I turned to face Ria's mother once more. "Your daughter is healthy and alive. I don't know you all that well...." The voice screamed again, and I looked around again. There was no one else on the plane with me, so whoever was screaming was in the other part of the plane.

Finally, there was a survivor.

"I'll find a way to return your daughter to her family," I promised and yanked the necklace from Ria's mother's neck and exited the plane, heading into the plane's second section. The voice I heard kept yelling in agony, and when I got to the second part of the plane, the voice became even louder. I walked in and didn't have to go any further when I noticed a man laying on the floor. As a metal was stuck on his leg, he was covered in blood and bleeding profusely. I didn't recognize him because of the blood on his face, but when I crouched down to his level, I recognized him as the man I had collided with on the airport.

He panted and groaned in pain. I locked my gaze on his face and rested my hand on his brow. He was running a fever because his entire body felt like it was on fire. If his bleeding was not stopped, he would die, which would be unfortunate because he had survived because he wanted to live. "I'm going to assist you," I said as I stood up, but he grabbed my legs and fluttered his eyes open.

"Please," he begged, his lips trembling. "Please help," he pleaded, coughing up blood.

"I'm going to assist you," I said as I knelt to his level and grabbed his hand. "I am a doctor, and I will make sure you are fine," I promised as I stood up. " Stay here for a moment while I look for my luggage because I have some medical supplies in there," I said as I turned to leave. " Ria," I said to the baby in my arms, but she didn't respond because she was asleep.

That's fantastic, I thought.

I only needed to find my luggage to save the bleeding man.
