New surroundings

Chloe's POV

As we walked out of the hospital I realized we were in a town I had never seen before. With wide eyes I looked all around in a state of shock to having no idea where I was anymore. I thought I was in town, my town, I thought I would see my school and the coffee shop I liked to go to some days after classes but I wasn't there, I was somewhere brand new. I looked over at Lucas who was watching me intently with a smile on his face, unsure what to say I smiles shyly back at him and then continued looking all around us.

'Wow this place is beautiful Callie, but I have no idea where we are? How can we be here? There is no town close to ours and yet here we are. I mean I couldn't have run so far that we ended up in a completely different area. and Lucas said he went to the house, I don't understand...' 'Chloe, I am just as confused, I know we didn't run to a whole other town, we couldn't have run that far, we didn't run for more that 20 minutes but look around us! This place is amazing,(she lifted her head cause me to do the same and we sniffed the air) it smells amazing here! I want to run around everywhere and take it all in!' I shook my head smiling at what Callie had said to me and noticed Lucas staring at me. I put my head down 'omg now he sees that I am crazy and talking to myself, holy shit did we sniff the air like a dog!?' I could hear Callie laugh at me and felt my cheeks turning red with embarrassment.

I followed Lucas out and we started to walk to what I assumed was his car. He opened the back door to me and when I got in I realized someone else was driving, Lucas came around the car and sat next to me and the driver started the car to drive away, I noticed the driver eyeing me from the mirror with a strange looking smile upon his face but thought nothing of it. I watched out the window as we started to drive through this little town, noticing it was completely surrounded by the woods. There were people walking along, enjoying the start of the new day, laughing and talking. I noticed a little coffee shop as well as a book store, grocery store, Cafe, and a few other little shops, nothing overly extravagant but perfectly beautiful. In the center of the town there was a playground full of little kids laughing, running, and playing together surrounded by a beautiful garden of flowers. I could barely believe my eyes at how pretty and quaint this place seem to be. As we kept driving I saw homes down streets that all were unique in their own way, no one the same as another like you usually see in neighborhoods, but all very pretty. We went down a street, close enough to where you could still see the entire town but off alone at the same time, the houses here were much bigger than the rest and one home really stood out, almost looking like it could be a museum by the sheer size of it. I was awestruck when the driver pulled into that driveway and looked over at Lucas that had a big smile upon his face as he looked over towards me.

The house was gorgeous! A beautiful pastel yellow with white shutters and giant white pillars with a gravel circle driveway that was lined with light pink tulips, steps up to the door with the mist divine sconces I had ever seen. From the looks of it, it looked to be 3 stories high and brand new. It had a garage off to the side that was just as nice and looked to hold up to 10 cars at a time, I could be over exaggerating with that though, not really sure how big it would have to be to hold that many, but it definitely held quite a lot. Next thing I knew Lucas was holding his hand out to me after opening my door to help me from the car. I grabbed his hand and got up, thoughts still swimming in my mind wondering if I was dreaming. He held my hand all the way you the front door, helping me up the steps and holding my hand tighter as I grabbed onto me with nervousness that I knew he felt. Somehow he could read me like an open book, but I wasn't complaining, it was nice not being asked continually if I was okay. He opened the front door and I was floored.

The inside of the house was truly wonderful, full of laughter, you could feel the happiness wafting out and onto you. There were photos everywhere of people and just looked so homey and comfortable like anyone and everyone was always welcome within these walls. Front what I could see, to the left of me was a great living room with comfortable looking couches and a giant flat screen TV on the wall and what looked like a bunch of teenagers enjoying a movie together, they all looked over to me and smiled like they were all happy to see me, I looked down feeling self conscious. To the right was a door that swung open and closed showing off a massive sized kitchen when I noticed my mouth hanging open and closing it really quick hoping no one had noticed. That's when a woman came up to us and looked down at me with a giant smile upon her face. "Hello Chloe dear, my name is Rose, I'm Lucas's mother" as she held out her hand to me I smiled big and went in for a hug instead. She wasn't fazed at all and hugged me right back "welcome to your new home little one, I hope that we can make you very happy here, we are all very happy to have you here with us, if you ever need anything, anything at all, no matter how small you can ask me" I backed away looking to her with tears in my eyes and thanked her graciously. 'Chloe, this is it, where we were always meant to be, this is home, I feel at ease here' 'Me too Callie, I don't understand it, but I can feel it too. I miss mom and dad tho, I wish they could be here, see that I'm okay' 'I know Chloe, I know you do. I can't believe we lost them, lost our parents again'. Lucas looked to me, still holding my hand and started pulling me up the stairs.
