Once Thomas realized the situation that he was in he grabbed Victoria's arm and they started backing out of the kitchen and headed for the door. But then I heard Victoria gasp and they came back to the kitchen with four of our warriors standing right behind them. "What the hell do you want? You have no right barging into our house like this." Victoria snapped at me. "And you had no right to kidnap girls and traffic them for money. I guess we've all been a little bad lately." I say. "What are you talking about?" Thomas asked, stuttering. "When you plan a coup against the Alpha then you should really protect your defenses better. I saw you with the girls at the packhouse. You collected money from the Beta, who is now dead, and then you took the girls in a van to the high school. Do I have that wrong? Because Jackson saw it as well." I say. "You two have gotten awfully close since the last time we saw you." Victoria spat at me. And I smiled at her and then at Jackson. "We're a
Edward was still out the back of the packhouse glaring at me like I had done something on purpose but I had no idea that this was going to happen. Carter came here looking for refuge. I didn't know that Hannah was going to be his mate. But it was bound to happen eventually. They both knew that. They weren't mated to each other. So they knew that they would find their mates eventually. I don't know why he is blaming me and even if I did bring him here, how would I know that he was Hannah's mate. "Edward, I swear. I didn't know that they were mates. How the hell would I?" I asked, trying to make him see sense. "Well, it's a bit of a coincidence. Isn't it? Because he was your friend from that other pack. And then he comes here and takes her away from me." He says. "Yeah. That's all it is. A coincidence. Carter came here seeking refuge because his pack was in trouble. I didn't bring him here. He came here looking for me." I say. And then Jackson came outside. "Taylor already said t
Ethan and I were both staring this guy down and he seemed to be at a loss for words. The truth is, I don't know who the hell Evan Avery was. I was just taking a wild guess that it was the Hunters leader. But it seemed to be right on the mark. He was getting flustered and sweating and as he tried to move away from me, Ethan stopped him and made sure that he couldn't go anywhere. We were soon joined by Jackson while the rest of the pack was still inside wondering what was going on. I started feeling a little dizzy standing out there and a little panicky. And I think that's what Jackson was picking up on. But it wasn't actually me that was feeling that way. It was him. "What the hell is going on here?" Jackson asked, looking at the omega Calvin. "I think he was just trying to call the Hunters leader. Which means that we now have their new leader's name." Ethan says and I handed Jackson the phone while Jackson had his arm around my waist. He knew that I wasn't feeling well. He could
I knew that Jackson wouldn't think twice about killing him, he was going to be interrogated at some point but I don't think any of us were expecting this. Jackson released Calvin and he dropped to the ground but Jackson stayed standing over him. And he wasn't moving from where he was. He was badgering Calvin with questions while Calvin was trying to catch his breath again. I leaned against the bars of the open door and I saw Calvin look at me several times, but this wasn't something that I was going to get into. This was a typical werewolf interrogation technique. We worked differently than human's and every werewolf knew that. So treason is a big deal in our community because they know what they're going to be in for if they get caught. "Who else is involved? Who in this pack is working against us?" Jackson demanded. But Calvin still remained tight lipped. "Don't make me do this under Alpha command. You know that only hurts a hell of a lot more." Jackson threatened and Calvin s
When I finally woke up the following day I rolled over and Jackson wasn't there. Touching his side of the bed, it was cold, so he had been up for a while. So I dragged myself out of bed and I went into the bathroom and I had a shower. After I got dressed I walked downstairs and I went to the kitchen to get a coffee and there were a couple of omega's flitting around the packhouse but I couldn't see anyone else hanging around. So I sat in the kitchen trying to wake myself up a bit and then I started looking around for Jackson. I tried to mind link him a couple of times but he had blocked off the mind link. So I called his phone but he didn't answer that either. So I headed to the foyer and I put my boots and jacket on and I went outside and started heading towards town. I know that he can't leave the territory either because only Stefan, Damon and I can walk through the shield without any trouble at all. And I finally got to the training grounds across town that Jackson had just es
I stood there with my heart pounding out of my chest and I started trying to figure out how the hell I was going to get out of this. I tried to take one more step back but that was the biggest mistake I made. As soon as I moved he lunged towards me and I narrowly dodged out of the way and when he spun around he attacked me again but I fell back onto my back and the wolf attacked me but I used my hands and feet to kick it back behind me. I jumped back up to my feet and spun around to face the wolf again and he turned to face me as well. This time when he attacked my claws extended from my nails and I dodged out of the way at the same time as I clawed all the way down the wolf's side as it passed me. The wolf landed on the ground and couldn't get up again. It was moaning and whimpering when the wolf started to shift back into his human side. "Oh my god." I say. I ran inside the back door and grabbed a blanket to throw over him and he was bleeding everywhere. Aria finally got ba
Stefan and I stayed there training for a couple of hours, but when it started to get dark I headed back to the packhouse and he needed to get home. Damon reported to the packhouse and I put him in the cell myself and I was the only one with the key to his cell. Because he wasn't a prisoner. This was to keep him safe. And I set a camera up to video tape him while he was in the cell. I wanted to know what was going so wrong with him that he couldn't control the shift or remember anything that happened while he shifted. I made sure that he had proper bedding and I made it as comfortable as I could on the short notice that I had since he wasn't actually a prisoner. He'd already eaten dinner so he didn't want any food but I gave him a couple bottles of water. I stayed with Damon for a little while before I went back upstairs and I went to get something to eat myself. I had given the cook a couple of days off and I was going to take care of myself. And when I was finished eating I wen
I was filling out paperwork and request forms in the office when I saw the light coming in from the door and I looked up to see Jackson standing there. "Hi." He said cautiously. "Hi." I say looking back at the paperwork. "Is everything alright?" He asked. "Why wouldn't it be?" I asked. And he looked around the room for some reason. It looked like he was making sure that we were alone and he walked into the office. "Why the hell did you go off at me back at the other pack?" He asked. "A girl has her reasons." I say looking up at him. And he nodded his head like he was trying to make sense of that. He obviously had no clue how to make sense of it otherwise we'd be in a drop down screaming match right now. "Why don't you come to bed. I'm exhausted and you look pretty tired as well." Jackson says. "I still have a few things to finish up here." I say. "Well, I'll help. You can get through them quicker." He says. "For fuck sake, Jackson. I can do it alone. Just go to fucki
