Chapter 4

Zoey's POV

The flowers and trees were slowly changing into grass and statues. I pulled my arm from hers, and just as I was about to ask AGAIN where I was or what was happening; she cut me off.

"Zoey, I know there's questions you have, but we can't waste anymore time. You don't have much longer here." she slowly turned away and walked to a huge fountain and sat on the edge. Where did that come from? She gestures for me to have a seat so I walked over and sat next to her. The sun was setting and the water was glowing blue. I was in awe but also scared at what was gonna come next.

She took a deep breath and began, "There is so much I want to tell you but I can't. However I can show you. She turned in her spot and placed her finger to the water and it slowly started to come up and formed into what appeared to be a mirror.

"You life has never been easy, yet your heart has never given up, even without shifting. You think you weren't gifted with a wolf but that's not true. I was waiting for the right time to bless you both, with each other. You are one of my purest children, and for that, I give you this gift." A white wolf with blue glowing eyes looked at me from this water-mirror thing and blinked. I couldn't understand what was going on but the wolf started to glow with blue swirls down its back. It started to jump all over the image like a happy puppy. I smiled at it. I don't know why, but a blue light shot out at me which knocked me off my feet. Gasping I sat up, "What the hell just happened?" I asked as I was rubbing my back.

"I just gifted you your wolf Zoey. You and her are one now and you'll complete the change on the next full moon." She stands up, reaches down and offers me her hands, which I gladly take.

"Ok, but I don't understand. Why is this happening and why here?" I asked because none of this is making any sense.

She helps me pluck grass out of my hair and turns me around. Holding both shoulders, she stares at me. "One day you'll understand. This is how everything was meant to be. You were gifted by the moon goddess, in her realm, a very special wolf that will help you along your journey."

WAIT. A. GOD. DANG. MINUTE.

"YOUR TELLING ME YOUR THE MOON GODDESS?". I practically screech at her. Laughing she nods her head. "Zoey, was it not clear when I said you talk to me everyday?" she asked, "You pray and pray to me and I listen. I just couldn't answer at the time."

"Wait. So I'm here, meaning, I must be dead. Why are you giving me a wolf now? And why was she glowing, blue in your water-mirror thingy?"

She just shakes her head, "You're not dead, my love, just sleeping. You've had a rough week. Which, just so happens, to be the perfect time to bring you here."

I'm dumbfounded, I still have no idea what's happening or anything she has said.

"But wait, I have more questions!" I tried telling her as she was pushing me away from the fountain. "There's no time dear, you're waking up, I'll see you soon." She smiles as I start being dragged away by something I couldn't see.

Just as I enter a black hole I hear her voice, "Her name is Zara."

Ahhh, The Moon Goddess. What's up with that water-mirror thing? Is it like where the wolf souls are kept until they turn 18?
