Navy pushed the heavy door open using her hip as she held two large coffee cups in her hands: a latte for herself and a double espresso, no sugar, for Victor. She often worried about his caffeine intake as he would surely have at least three more before he went home for the evening. Victor looked up at her with a broad smile. Was he smiling at her because she was there, doing a great job as his PA? Or was he smiling because she was there holding his double espresso?“Navy Remington, how did you know? Woman, you are a true goddess… This was just what I needed… Thank you so much.” ‘Great! I am the goddess of… coffee… How pathetic am I?!’“Oh, it was nothing,” she told Victor. “I just thought… Well, I know that if I came in holding only the one for me, you would just spend your day pouting.” He stood and met her in the middle of the office. Victor took a beer from the fridge he’d installed as part of a poolside bar and popped it open. He loved the outdoor oasis that he’d created on the terrace of his condo, one of the newest buildings in the city. He had meticulously planned the space for the pool, the hot tub, the bar, lounge area, even down to the plants and flowers adorning it, the foliage that afforded him and his guests all the privacy that they needed. Sure, it was June and it might have been a little chilly for an outdoor party, but with the warmth of the pool and carefully placed exterior heaters, nobody complained. Victor loved his outdoor area, but because of all the time he spent working, he rarely got to enjoy it, or any of the other luxuries he could now afford because of his hard work and success. When they walked back out to the terrace, the sun had fully set, and the automatic timer had turned on the exterior lights so that the night was now cast in a yellow-orange glow. He had also forgotten to turn off the music. So now, instead of the dance music that had been playing earlier, it had since slowed to R&B. ‘Nice romantic setting…’ Victor frowned. It was as if some strange force had conspired to usher him and the PA he couldn’t ever have into bed together. ‘This is such a bad idea.’ But it was too late to say anything. “‘Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Spirit Airlines, flight A321, with nonstop service to Las Vegas, Nevada,’” the pilot’s deep voice droned throughout the cabin. “‘We’ll be pulling away from the gate shortly, and it looks like smooth flying all the way to Vegas. So, settle in, get comfortable and please watch the following video about the safety features of this aircraft.’” Victor put his head back and closed his eyes. He was about to spend the next two hours and twenty-three minutes sitting next to Navy. Since hiring her, Victor had attempted to keep his distance, for fear of reaching out and touching the hair that looked so luxuriously soft, or the smooth skin that beckoned to him. They hadn’t discussed what had happened in his hot tub, both honoring their unspoken agreement to forget it happened, Victor supposed. But how could he forget her smooth skin, the noises she’d made when he turned her on... ‘Jesus, this is going to be the longest flight of my

Victor and Navy spent the next four days at the convention, attending workshops, lectures, and presentations, and Victor even did a presentation of his own. Of course, he nailed it. The meeting with Ben Randall had gone splendidly. He was absolutely charmed by Victor, as Navy knew he would be. When they exited the last event of the convention, they realized that they still had most of their last day left to explore the city. Navy was looking forward to the opportunity to check out some of the sights of the Las Vegas Strip on their last day, but she knew Victor was a workaholic, so she assumed that he would have something planned to keep them busy. “So, what’s the agenda for the rest of the day?” she asked, turning to him. She scrolled through the calendar on her phone and didn’t see anything that they’d scheduled. Instead of using the afternoon to explore more of the sights in Las Vegas, Navy used it to treat herself to some of the hotel’s spa services. First the mani/pedi, followed by a bikini wax, a hot stone massage, and an appointment to have her hair and makeup professionally applied and styled. She wanted to make sure she looked absolutely perfect tonight when Victor saw her. ‘It’s not like it’s a date,’ Navy told herself. Navy wouldn’t get her hopes up that tonight would be anything more than just a fun night out as two colleagues, and at most two friends. ‘Two friends who felt each other up in a hot tub, you mean.’&n

Victor could only laugh when he saw where Navy had led him as she held on to his arm and practically dragged him across the casino. Really, she didn’t have to pull so hard. He was sure that he would have followed her anywhere… anytime…“So, what is this?” he asked her, smiling broadly, as they stood in front of a frozen daiquiri bar, a common stop for tourists on the Strip.“For five days now, I’ve watched everyone walking around with these, and tonight I’ve decided I want one.” Navy turned to the man behind the counter and held up two fingers and pointed to the ridiculously large, yard-long drinking receptacles. When they were poured, she passed one to Victor. He had never had one before and he wasn’t looking forward to the blast of sugar he knew was coming. He watched Navy as she took a sip. He couldn’t help but feel aroused at the way she lowered her face and closed her eyes when her lips closed over the straw. His breath caught, and he was mesmerized

When Victor took her hand and led her to his suite, Navy sighed softly.“Finally…” she whispered. Yes... Finally, she would once again, feel Victor’s lips on hers, his magical hands on her craving body. She wanted him, really wanted him for weeks… since the night she kissed him. And if this night was all she must have with Victor, so be it… She’d give herself entirely to him. No phone interruptions, no pulling away from him. This was going to happen. Navy followed him blindly until they finally arrived to double doors that led to his suite. Victor dropped her hand to reach into his jacket for his key card. She noticed a slight tremble in his hand and she relaxed a little, knowing that he was as affected as she was. Victor opened the door and ushered her inside. She inhaled sharply when she felt him come from behind her and place his large hands on her shoulders. Navy felt his warmth through the fabric of her dress, closed her eyes, and
