Professional Conference.

I walked gracefully into the office as I prepared myself for the inevitable.

"Doctor Maeve, please take a seat," the director said.

"Thank you sir" I voiced, adjusting my coat before taking the chair in front of his deck.

"I'm sure you're well aware of the reason I called you...doctor."

"Yes sir."

"You performed a surgery way above your licenses, which we do not support in this hospital." He paused for a moment, standing up from his chair to walk toward the open window.

"Do you know why rules are created?" He asked, gazing through the window.

"To sustain order," I replied curtly, knowing where the conversation was heading but nonetheless, I had to defend my point.

"Yes, and also to prevent tragedies." He moved his gaze to me, holding my gaze.

"I've been a doctor for thirty-five years, and I can say I know potential when I see one.....you're a good doctor with a good foundation to back up ....but what I didn't expect is you putting your career on the line."
