Heavy Rain

Lasci grinned to himself, acting like he didn’t hear her.

“I’m sure Pru has the SUV pulled out front by now. I’ll carry you down. Try not to move.”

“Okay,” Purity replied as Lasci reached his arm under her legs and behind her back, scooping her up.

She weighed nothing, he thought to himself and thinking that Tener probably thought the same thing when he carried her up the other day.

“You need to eat more.”

Nodding, Purity replied, “I usually eat a lot, but the medication gets my stomach in knots, and I don’t feel like eating.”

“Regardless if you feel like it or not, you can’t get the proper nutrition if you starve yourself. When we return, I’ll have Johnathan fetch foods you like to eat.”

He looked down at her smile and quickly turned as the bedroom door opened.

“Oh, sorry,” Tener said, closing the door.

“What is it? We’re getting ready to leave.”

Lasci knew Tener probably misunderstood, but he wasn’t about to explain himself.
