Chapter 24: Helena POV

Slowly peeling my gloves off alongside the other thirty women dancing tonight I felt empty. Finding my mate should have been one of the greatest, most fulfilling surprises of my life but I was heading towards mine with shackles. I had to go allow myself to form a mate bond with a man I could not stand. To run away now would be breaking a promise to the man I loved. Maybe my training with the Fates would enable me to eventually prove Alexander’s innocence and bring him back to where he belonged, that would at least make this sacrifice worthwhile. Taking a deep breath to centre myself I gave my head a little shake and rolled my shoulders.

Honestly yea kinda not excited she didn’t stand her ground. But he did threaten to kill her friends. What was the alternative?

I've lost interest after this chapter tbh. Just when I was interested in this book because the female lead seems strong and able to hold her own, it turns out to be like most of the others.

Omg why can't the female lead have the guts to fight for herself. Helena should've denied Bram instead of going along with him... Usually the female leads are made out to be something special and strong yet allow people to push them around... so annoying
