Walking down the stone corridor I felt light-headed and giddy. The instant I stepped out of the shower Azalea was there ready to assist, yet not a word left her lips about Alexander. She clearly knew, she always knew everything it felt but she was keeping it to herself. Now the mate bond was active there was a burning desire eating away at me at his absence. 

I was dressed in a simple plum purple strapless gown that flowed to my feet with a small slit just above the knee. My hair was largely left to its own devices, and my make up was simple. It didn’t feel like a regular ball where every inch needed to be primped and preened, it wouldn’t have fit the tone of the evening. I didn't have my cloak on for the ball and my shoulders were exposed to the cool breeze of the night.
