“Lilliana, what is the meaning of this?” my mother’s nasally voice interrupted my thoughts. I’d been replaying my day with Chaos and Elliot over and over in my head. The thrill of finally harnessing my magic had my heart racing with the purest form of excitement.

Chaos told me there was no way that was everything I’ve got and that was equally terrifying as it was exhilarating.

Turning my head, I met her icy glare, holding up the contract that I’d revised for Gwen as well as the new one for Moira.
