CHAPTER 118

Arius felt a lump form in his throat as Lucius made his threat. That did it. Now there was no way for him to refuse. He had to do this. Jaida's life depended on it. He would rather die trying than watch helplessly as Lucius killed her. In order to protect her, he had to accept the battle terms.

"Fine," he said softly. "I accept." Lucius just smirked, his body starting to fade into the darkness.

"Don't forget," he warned Arius. "Seven days. If you don't show, I'll hunt you down, and I'll kill the girl…slowly and painfully…and you won't be able to do anything about it." And with that said, he left Arius alone in the darkness. However, it was a bit too late. He wouldn't be able to get any sleep now.
