206What?!"What?" I echoed my thoughts, feeling my anger get replaced by shock as I stared at her. She sniffed, her hands coming up to cover her face as tears rolled down her cheeks. Fucking great, another fucking pretence. Didn't she ever get tired? "I... I know it was wrong. I had just agreed to be your mistress and I was fine with it. One day while.you were at work, Noah came looking for you at home. I hadn't left after our night together so he met me." She sniffed again and I could swear that it fucking irritated the shit out of me. "We talked-""Talked? Talking certainly didn't produce that baby, I would know that.""We just talked. It was three years ago Nathan!""I don't care how.long it was. Hell was the baby from three years ago even mine?! The one you miscarried?" Her eyes drifted down to the bed."Fuck," I whispered. I had no idea why I was still surprised. Lily had been deceiving me all along. "It wasn't mine either?" "There was no baby," She mumbled. "I just got so
207NathanIgnoring the loud sound that permeated the entire hospital and the voice of the woman yelling from the reception desk for doctors in the emergency, I made my way towards the exit. I had to get out of there. Hell I had to get to the bar, have some whiskey and drown myself in alcohol. I felt so damn tired, I wanted respite from my roller coaster of emotions. I just wanted to get away. Forget everything. Chloe, Lily, Adele- I stopped in my tracks. No no not Adele. Not my daughter. Perhaps I could fight for custody. Chloe most likely hated my guts already, that much was evident from her joining forces with Eduardo. But I couldn't abandon Adele. I was never there for the first two years of her life. I wanted no need to be present for every single day afterwards. With renewed determination coursing through my veins, I stomped towards the exit. The hospital was in a frenzy for some reason. A doctor rushed past me like he was the flash and bolted for the door. For a minute I th
208 Nathan The hospital was a mess. I watched the nurses and doctors run around the hospital panicking as they attended to Addison and Chloe. My eyes remained glued to the theater door, waiting, expecting, hoping. I hoped I wasn't hoping against hope. I hoped that Chloe would be fine. I would live a life of regrets if she did. How was I supposed to make amends for all the foolish decisions I had made? How would I show that I was sorry? That I didn't care what ever it was that she had with Eduardo, I just wanted her back? How would I ever make it up to her? I sat still, like a log of wood on the metallic chairs in the hallway. I was tired and so damned exhausted. It had been a while since Chloe was rushed in and frankly I had no.plans to leave. Not now. Not until I knew she was fine. A loud beeping sound reached my ears and that woke me up out of my emotional trance. Doctors ran down the hallway towards the theater, their white coat billowing behind them. "Chloe," I said, j
209Nathan"Chloe was kidnapped when she was born by Tristan and his wife. She is Arabella, the only daughter of the Montgomerys." David explained as soon as we'd settled in my car. I tried to wrap my head around what I currently heard."How was she kidnapped?" "Do you want a breakdown of how it happened? If so, you'll have to ask Tristan how he did it. I told you what I know." I hissed through my gritted teeth and grabbed him by the shirt. "You do not want to play cheeky with me, old man. How did you know she was Montgomery's daughter?" "A simple DNA test?" David replied, his brow furrowed in anger. My hold on him slacked. Where the hell was my head, I had just done that a few hours ago to find out if Noah was my son. I have to say, it sucked like hell. So Chloe was Arabella Montgomery? What else was Cam wrong about? My hands balled into fists as I glared at the space before me. "Why did she come back then? She could have just stayed in New York..." I trailed off reconsiderin
CHAPTER 210 NATHAN’S POV I groaned as I put on my clothes, it felt like forever. I walked out of the bathroom to see her lying there, motionless, her breath almost unnoticeable. The urge to run to her and break down, pleading for her to rise felt almost irresistible but I managed to bury the feeling. I walked to her side, gently dragging the chair to the bedside. Her fingers are attached to the monitor. Everything just irritated me, couldn’t she just wake up? Having so many things to say, I could barely contain myself any longer. Foolish was an understatement of my behaviors this past few months but I was here to redeem all my wrongdoings. She didn't deserve all of the things I had done or said to her. She had rather stayed with me regardless of my harsh words and behavior. She was the right person for me, I had been so blinded in my revenge that I had forgotten what truly matters. I and Chloe loved each other, I should have been able to trust her despite everything.
NATHAN’S POV “She will soon be awake,” the doctor announced, earning a smile for me. “That's great news,” I was saying when a cough interrupted me. Quickly rushing to her side, Chloe had woken up. First, her fingers moved after staying numb for days, I could also notice the flicker in their eyes. She was probably adjusting to light after a few days of darkness. Slightly turning her neck, her eyes landed on my happy self. Her lips were slightly apart, indicating that she wanted to say something but it seems her voice was croaked. “Get her water,” I heard the doctor order the nurse. I collected the water and gently raised her head, I could notice her trying to resist. Staring at her with remorse, she pushed the water slightly after about five minutes. “She still isn't saying anything,” I said to the doctor worriedly. He strolled to where Chloe was laying and started checking her. “Everything is fine medically,” the doctor said. Nodding my head, I perfectly understood everythin
NATHAN’S POV “I don’t still support you buying her these flowers,” Cameron argued as we walked into the hospital. “Ohh please, Chloe is my wife and I know what she wants,” I announced angrily. “Technically, she isn't, you are only trying to win her over,” Cameron said with sarcasm. I wanted to strangle him, when you are friends with someone like Cam he does everything to annoy you. Facing him, I gave him a hard glare before storming out of his sight. “Wait, I am sorry,” I heard him say but rather chose to ignore. “I need to use the restroom,” he said but I still ignored him. “Dickhead!” I cursed before entering the hospital room. Looking bewildered, I couldn’t believe the person I was also seeing. Someone who despised me with her whole heart. “Hey Addison,” I greeted with a crooked smile as she scowled at me. Addison was always with a scowl, I wondered how Chloe was friends with her. Chloe was always happy while Addison was always the opposite. So uptight and annoying! Breathi
NATHAN’S POV I groaned as I went to the kitchen to search for something to eat. My mind wandered off to Chloe. “I am sure she will be fine,” I said to myself as I grabbed some cookies and a glass of juice. Walking to my office, I settled down and started some serious work. I was planning an event for models, actors and everyone in the entertainment sector so it had to be perfect. I started my work and didn’t know that time had passed, I was so buried in my work that I hadn’t noticed. Time flies as they always say, you wouldn’t believe it till you start experiencing it yourself. I went down the memory lane of how everything started. My meeting with Chloe, our relationship, everything was just so fast and now we were here. Judging by Chloe’s action I don’t think she can forgive me. I have been trying to deny that for a long time but it is getting obvious daily. She doesn’t say much and would rather ignore me. Sighing heavily, I rubbed my temples anxiously. Her being with
