03~ Hated!

Zeta's POV

I've been sitting my ass in my room for hours, I wanted to get some air. I told my maid to escort me down to the garden. While on our way to the garden, one of the concubines stood before me. Her face wore an angry look, like she had caught me stealing from her pot or some thing.

"Good morning." I greeted with a bow.

"I don't need your greetings, bitch." I acted not to be shocked at her reaction. "Look here, young lady, I don't know what charm you used to cage His majesty to yourself, but whatever it is, I'm gonna tell you some thing, it won't work."

"I'm sorry, I don't understand why you're telling me this."

She eyed me. "Don't act like you don't understand a shit, you know what I am talking about! This child isn't meant for you, it's meant for us; the queen and my fellow concubine. But you, you just deserve to remain the same poor wretched teenager you are."

I was hurt by her words. She didn't even care how it sounded leaving her mouth, she spat it all on me. The second concubine came soon after, and without asking what the problem was, she added more to the insult I was already having.

"And hey, just know some thing, Alpha Damien doesn't love you, he is only after your body and the child. Once you have given him what he wants, you're a nobody to him."

"I don't care about your Alpha, I'm only after the money, okay? Once I give birth to his child, I don't have any business with him or any one. So, you can hate me all you can, I ain't interested in fighting for a man with you both." I turned to my maid. "Let's go."

I pulled myself together to walk away from the two women with my portrayed tummy.

"Young Miss, you don't have to worry about what they said." My maid said.

"I'm not worried about them, they aren't my problem, the queen is."

"You know about the queen?" She asked, surprised.

"Not really, but I have learnt what kind of person she is. I understand why she's been acting so nice to me, she's only after my child and not me."

There was a brief silence which lasted until we got to the garden. We sat by a bench which was under a tree. "Why don't you want to keep your baby to yourself?" She asked.

"I don't think I'm ready to become a mother." I looked at her. "I still have a long way to go in life."

"The queen is coming." She announced. I looked towards the direction she was coming, the expression on her face was a scary one. Did some one get her angry? I thought to myself.

"She doesn't look happy to me." My maid said in a whisper.

"You don't have to worry about the look." I assured her.

She made it to the garden. We both greeted her, but she didn't respond to our greetings. "I don't care what or who you are, and I don't fancy that being in your womb, but I'm gonna be frank with you. If you want this building to contain the both of us, then it's time you learn to maintain your lane."

"I'm sorry, Your Majesty, I don't think I understand what you're trying to say."

"Well, I'll make it simple since your empty skull is too weak to understand a simple vocabulary. I adore you because my husband does, I respect you for what you carry in there." She points at my stomach. "But that doesn't mean you should fight my place in the king's heart. That position is meant for no one else but myself, so, if you still cherish your life and that of your child, then do yourself the favour of staying the fuck out of the way."

"I don't have any feelings for your husband, and likewise for him. I'm only after the money, I'm here for the deal, okay? I don't know why His majesty cherishes me, but whatever reason he's got, I think you should put the blame on him and not me. I respect him, but not as my mate. And besides, there's nothing so enticing about him to me."

She laughed. "Really?" She chuckled. "Even after the constant night visiting, you still don't find him enticing? Who are you fooling, Miss Jones?"

"I'm not fooling any one."

"I see. You know what, just give birth and hand me that child, and get the fuck out of my home." With that, she walked out.

Just because I wasn't ready to mother a child doesn't mean she can talk to me in such a manner. I do know I have every right to change my mind and take my child with me. I will not tolerate a barren person talking to me like trash.

"I think you should talk to His majesty about this." My maid suggested.

"Telling him won't change any thing." I said, with the bitterness in my heart.

I locked myself in my room, I refused to eat despite the plea from my maid. I was praying I'd go into labor and forget any of these ever happened.

"My Lady."

"I already told you, Jen, I am not hungry!" I sparked.

"His majesty wants to see you."

On hearing that, I quickly wiped the tears off my face. I rushed to the makeup drawer, taking the white powder. I quickly applied it on my face, hiding the tear stains.

"I'm coming." I adjusted my gown, dressing my hair. After I was done, I finally opened the door. "Y…your majesty. Please, come in." I opened the door wide enough for him to enter.

Since he's been coming to check on me, I kinda found his presence comforting. I wouldn't open the door if it were any one else, but some thing about him made me open the door.

I shut the door. "Mind for any thing?" I asked.

"Jen told me you have refused to eat." He said, ignoring my question. He turned to look at me. "Why?"

"I don't feel hungry." I lied.

"You know what I hate, Miss Jones, I hate lies."

"I don't wanna eat." I insisted.

"You don't have to be hungry before you eat. As much as I want you alive, I want my child alive too." He looked at me for a while. "Do you wanna talk about some thing?"

"Promise me, Your Majesty, that you will keep to your word after I give birth to your child."

"Before I answer that, I wanna know why you asked that question."

Hot tears rolled down my cheeks as I searched for the words to justify my statement. "I don't think I can offer his majesty more than just giving birth to his child."
