Continue Matthew's POV:
I'm not sure how long it was before I heard the door sliding back open. Beta Ethan came back inside the room. This time with a few people assisting him. They had water for me and a light prepared meal. Not enough to upset my stomach. I was starving and the portions they gave me had it in mind. I would have just enough to leave me wanting more. It was a light stew. They fed it to me before whipping me down and rebandaging my wounds. I was almost done healing. The process seemed to be taking forever. They cleaned me before they would release me. I was too weak to fight back. My arms felt disconnected from my body. The lack of blood flow in them made them discolored. How could someone be so cruel and leave me with my arms above my head? Who knows how long I was forced to stay upright in that position. I thought they were on the verge of falling off. Ethan watched nearby as they rehabilitated me. In fact his mind seemed elsewhere areContinuing Matthew's POV: I followed Ethan out into the hall and to the door a few feet down. He unlocked the cell and I was shoved in before the door shut dramatically behind me. I had tripped as I landed head down on the floor. I looked up in relief as my sister's scent flooded the room. "Matthew?" April asked in surprise as she looked down at my face. Her own was a blank space of horror. She looked pale like a ghost hit her. She had been sweating only moments before as if somehow it was hot in the room. It was as cold as a basement should be. For lack of installation of course. She moved off the bed and helped me to my knees. "Wow... it is you?" She asked in surprise before helping me to sit on the bed with her. "Where are we?" She asked and looked around at her small purgatory. "I don't know." I lied to her. I felt immediately guilty for lying to her. She had been my sister after all. I usually told her the truth. I was an honest man a
Jossie's POV: We arrived at the apartment complex Nathalie lived at. We had to walk up four flights of stairs before I realized we had to walk back down a set. I had forgotten which floor she lived on. The only reason I switched floors was because the fourth didn't ring a bell. The upper levels looked older than the bottom. Like they were slowly remodeling the floors. We knocked on the door when I was sure it was correct. Nathalie opened it up. "Hey... Jossie, Come on in..." Her eyes landed on Casimir. "You too..." Her eyes met mine again. "I sent Malaya across the hall," she whispered as she opened the door wide for us. I nodded as I entered the apartment first and Casimir was last in. I wouldn't explain to him today that Nathalie had a daughter. If he was curious he could probably find out due to all the evidence surrounding the small apartment. Nathalie locked the door behind us and we found Veronica sitting on the couch. She waved when we entered. I s
Juliette's POV: The dress I picked out was similar to Olivia Bottega's stunning and sparkly ball gown batist. The light ivory- which almost seemed silver to my eyes. Which cost about fifteen hundred alone. It was gorgeous. It was my kind of style. I looked like I was going to a wedding instead of a birthday masquerade. I wanted to be eye-catching. I wanted to dazzle people and this dress was the perfect match for me. I felt like a princess inside it. It was an off shoulder corset with long sleeves. This was the type of dress that would make anyone believe I was fragile and at the same time... Stunning. It was an open back with a detailed lining of pearl buttons. Each bead would glitter at the slightest of light interaction. The décolleté is garnished with lace carefully caressing my skin. I matched it with a similar light ivory colored mask which would only cover my face and was made from the same lace material. My dress had
Continuing Juliette's POV: "I asked the lady for a dance," I heard the stranger say suddenly. Who was this guy? Did he have a death wish? He shocked me as I never guessed those words would come from him. It was very bold of him to speak against a king. It was very... attractive. My eyes hesitated as I resisted looking away from Camren. Every excuse in my body told me to deny Camren from getting his moment alone with me. I wanted to hear what this stranger would say. I wanted to glide against the ball room's floor with him as lead. A dance? It could fun. It sounded exciting. "It can wait. This is more important," Camren said suddenly. His eyes would hold their gaze upon me. "You have a choice," the guy whispered in my ear. "You don't have to listen to him just because of his title. You're just as important." I widened my eyes slightly. I was... just as important? Who was this guy? Was he not from around here? This was crazy. Camren's eyebrows lowered in a scowl.
Jossie's POV: It amazed me at the size of their pack house. It was a gigantic manor. Something you would see somewhere in Europe's museum of houses. Our costumes would certainly go well with the manor's theme. Everything was modernized besides the year this manor was built. It had been well refurbished over the years. As if every year they had nothing better to do. This place must have personal grounds keepers for the landscape to be beautiful. The place was surrounded by an electric fence. The gates were wide open with valets waiting. I'm not sure where they would take the vehicles to. It was apparel we would walk from the gate. Nathalie made sure to have our invitations ready in case we were questioned. Nathalie's dress was black just like mine. With a Victorian gothic appeal to it. It was probably made from fine cotton and lace. Nothing too special about it. It was round necked to compliment her flat chest. Her chocolate eyes were cover
Continuing Jossie's POV: I was going to find Casimir. My heart throbbed as I thought of what would happen if we didn't make it out of here unnoticed. Would that bastard find us? Would he kill us on command? My mind was heavy with the thought of what my sister would do if she saw me here. I wanted to leave. My eyes scanned down the hallway frantically. I have to find him. My head spun and I hit the wall. A few people glanced my way in alarm. They were coming my way but my mind was going someplace else. My body was crashing. I could feel a sickness rising up from the pit of my stomach. I was nauseous as my surroundings changed. I was seeing through Juliette's eyes once again. It was like she was channeling me to her. "You know what I should give you?" Camren's voice made my skin crawl. I was uneasy immediately. I was seeing through her eyes now. It was like I was there inside her. "I-I'm not sure," her light voice would echo th
Ethan's POV: It wasn't hard to find out where Alpha Camren had disappeared to. I found myself outside of where the balconies were. Henley's kind suggestion lead me here. It was only moments ago when a scream came from this direction in a woman's voice. I could hear whispers from nearby about a girl fainting. Nothing to worry me for it wasn't the reason I had come. I spotted a clear sign of where Camren was. Guards were posted outside of one of the balconies. One of the guards straightened his back as he noticed me coming. The guards that had been posted outside for the king were knocked to the ground like I had missed something. It was clear they did not do their jobs properly. I could hear whispering about the female who had fainted coming this way before the scream could be heard. The crowd by the doors were connecting the two together. "Down here! Someone jumped from the balcony!" I heard someone yell further down the hall where the stairwell was. I spo
LJossie's POV: It wasn't long after Camren had disappeared from my view before someone else had come up the stairs. A panicked and sick amusement written on his face. The whispers about me seemed to stop as new gossip spread through the crowd like wildfire. They dashed for the stairs. I could smell the jealousy fading as they all wanted to see what was happening downstairs. "Come quickly! There is a fight downstairs," the person said towards the ones that remained here. "An old hag is being choked by a handsome suitor!" I rose from my knees to get back on my feet. What is happening now? My heart was swelling as I made my way downstairs to see for myself. I pushed past a thick crowd of drunk werewolves in fancy ball uniforms and dresses. I made my way towards what they were looking at. When I breached the first line of people my heart dropped through my chest in horror. There she was- the woman I dreamed dead for the past week. She was in a beige ash-colored dres
