The loud laughter coming from Jamaal's room made me keep biting my nails. I had to wait for him till he was done with his friends, knowing Jamaal's squads were here in the Haidar's mansion made an ill feeling settle in the pit of my stomach.

Mrs Haidar was not here in the sitting room, but her younger kids were here making noise as they played with their legos.

I noticed Layla was whispering something into Imran's ears, but I didn't hear whatever it was. Imran began to laugh out loud, rolling on the floor, while Layla chuckled at his reaction.

I felt a bit embarrassed because I felt they were both laughing at something on me or probably me.

"Can I call you Liv?" Layla suddenly asked.

I stared at her trying to confirm if she was actually talking to me.

"Y
