Chapter Fifty-six: Damien's Grandfather's Broadened Eyes.

"Now that I've known that you're innocent, I'm offering to help you prove your innocence to Helia."

Rendall stood by his bed and watched Damien, who was sprawled on his bed.

"Why do you want to help me? What's in it for you?" Rendall stared at him with a puzzled look.

"Nothing. I just hate it when bad people win."

"You have a phone, right? You should have taken a recording of what she was saying."

"My phone wasn't with me."

"Tsk! Tsk!" Damien shook his head in disapproval. "Creepy uncle, you had lost a good chance to prove your innocence to Helia and I don't think she'd say anything the second time you go."

"Are you sure you aren't an old man trapped in the body of a ten-year-old?" Rendall raised an eyebrow. The boy on his bed was too wise for his age.

"Exactly." Damien snapped his finger. "That's why you need me. Since I'm a child, Danica won't see me as someone who can double-cross her and would be less cautious with me."
