The metal gates drifted apart with a buzz and the first person to receive him back from the penitentiary was his wife whose shoulders Oscar brushed past.

He’d only spent a few hours in there but you could see the disgust plastered on his face, like he couldn’t wait to get home to a long shower to wash the prison stench off him. “You could say thank you.” Aaron who had gotten him out muttered beneath his breath but without saying any word to either of them, Oscar made his way to the front seat of the car.
