Next Day at the Verlice's Mansion

"Are you two sure about leaving with the children? We can take good care of them until you two are more free." Langdon said worriedly, seeing Pierce and Queenie leaving.

"We won't be gone for a long time, grandfather." Pierce said to Langdon but the elderly man pretended not to hear him and turned to Queenie.

Upon seeing the attention was on her, Queenie sighed and glanced helplessly at the elderly man. "Mr. Verlice, I hate to refuse your offer. As Pierce said, we need them to do something for us. It's urgent but it'll also be quick and they'll be back here before you know it."

Clearly seeing that they weren't giving in, Langdon leaned back but heaved a sigh of satisfaction in his heart. He had heard about the unstable marriage they had and hoped it was just a rumor.

He had always wanted his grandson to end up with Queenie. So when he heard they had gotten married two years ago, he was more than thrilled to accept the news.
