The tension in the room was palpable, thick enough to suffocate any semblance of peace or tranquility. His steely gaze bore into mine, accusing and unforgiving, as he leveled a barrage of accusations at me, each one hitting its mark with painful precision.

"You've done it again, Damien," Emilio spat, his voice laced with barely concealed anger and contempt. "You've put Isabella in danger, just like you always do."

I bristled at his words, the sting of his condemnation cutting deep into my already battered conscience. I knew he was right—my actions had once again jeopardized Isabella's safety, leaving her vulnerable to the whims of those who sought to do her harm.
