Chapter 21

I've been trudging through a dark, narrow alley for some minutes. I don't know where on Earth I am right now. All I know is when I opened my eyes, I was already standing still here. The wind is icy and begins to numb my flesh. I keep on stepping until two people pop out in front of me. As they raise their heads, I get nervous — they're Sean and our father. They're looking at me with a blank expression. They're so stoic that they start to internally freak me out. And in a blink of an eye, they're already gone. But a pool of blood has replaced its position, and it flows toward me even though the surface is flatter than a metal sheet. I try to move backward, but my feet seem glued to the ground. I can't step back at all, not even a muscle in my legs.

I scream and close my eyes, my hands covering my ears, but when I open my eyelids, I'm already in Ryle's room. O God. I had a nightmare again. I've been getting nightmares lately, I sense. And they're all quite provokingly violent
