Chapter 40: The Tables Have Turned

"This place..." I looked at the laboratory in shock. I couldn't imagine such a place existing in the house I had lived in since childhood.

"Haven't you always wanted to know what I'm hiding from you? You can find the answer here." Edmond stood at the door and looked at me strangely.

I nodded and began to carefully inspect the laboratory. There were some paper documents scattered on the workbench. I walked closer and took a look. Because I was afraid that others would see traces of flipping, I only looked at some on the surface. Most of them were medical reports showing the indicators.

I just skimmed past the other equipment and finally stopped in front of a glass-fronted bookcase filled with folders. The folders had names written on them, and I was surprised to see mine.

What the hell? Had I been here for an experiment? When? Why didn't I remember anything about it?

Huge panic enveloped me. I reached out to open the cabinet door and get the folder. I closed my eyes for a moment,
