The woman led me the way to the General Manager's office. This area of the top floor was clearly surrounded by high-ranking executive offices from various and even sub-branches and departments.

I couldn’t help but think over and over about why the heck is it necessary for General Manager to interview me when this is solely and basically the work of the Hiring and Recruitment Department. Why not just leave it alone to them?!

My anxiety level increased. If the HR people were enough to make me nervous earlier, what more if General Manager himself is already the one I'd be facing, right? A place so high up! Also, it's one of the major positions in a large company and business like this!

Anyhow, I was puzzled by the General Manager's request that an applicant be brought to the top floor so that he could conduct the interview personally. But why just with me? As I could recall, the applicants who came before me had their interviews in the HR Department that went well and just fine!
